I think it sounds helpful, actually. It doesn't necessarily mean that all trans people have brains like that, but it does mean that if your brain fits the pattern, then you're definitely trans. So that could be helpful for people that can't seem to figure it out on their own. Just think of how many people we have on here posting stuff like "I don't know if I'm trans, pls help". They'd have a medical option that could give them a definite answer, instead of having to go to a therapist (potentially for years) to try and sort it all out.

A really good book about us to hand out to friends/family/coworkers is "You're in the Wrong Bathroom!": And 20 Other Myths and Misconceptions about Transgender and Gender-Nonconforming People.  Interesting enough though the authors basically dismiss all biological evidence about transness as A) poorly or incompletely researched at this point and B) irrelevant, as we should be free to be who we are in any circumstance.  It's a subject I'm on the fence about; certainly I'm grateful that insurers are obligated to carry some of the costs for me, if it means the consider me disordered in some way I'll accept that.

Another fascinating book is Evolution's Rainbow: Diversity, Gender, and Sexuality in Nature and People, which shows the amazing gender and sexual diversity that's out there in the animal kingdom, including us.  There are some remarkable critters on this planet - crossdressing snakes, anybody?  Author Joan Roughgarden is a transwoman, too.
