Looks like it's going to be much easier now in Nevada to change your gender on drivers licenses.

Good to hear that amidst all the rollbacks and bad trans news going on politically, something good happens too sometimes.

Change usually starts at the state and local level. It's easier to foment change that way. Eventually there will be a tipping point, especially with full faith and credit issues. It's coming, just not at the speed we'd like.

Nice to see more changes. Our provincial government just made a similar change a week ago and I took full advantage of it. All we have to do now is go in and tell them we want an M, F or even an X now with no other documents required. Pay a $13:00 fee, get a new picture and the new licence arrives in 7-10 days. Once it here you go back fill in a form and they will change your gender on your health care card as well for no further fees based on the licence.
Places are getting so progressive finally
December 2015 noticed strange feelings moving in
December 2016 started to understand what my body has been telling me all my life, started wearing a bra for comfort full time
Spiro and dutastricide 2017
Mid year 2017 Started dressing and going out shopping etc by myself
October T 14.8 / 456
Came out to my wife in December 2017
January 2018 dressing androgenes and still have face hair
Feb 2018 Dressing full time in female clothing out at work and to friends and family, clean shaven and make up
Living full time March 1 2018
March T 7.4 / 236
April 19th eligard injection, no more Testosterone
June 19th a brand new freshly trained HRT and transgender care doctor for me. Only a one day waiting list to become her patient 😍

That's funny, I didn't know this policy was so new when I got my gender marker changed.  ;)

Anyways, I can personally confirm this news story, they don't need a doctor's letter or anything to change your gender marker. You still can't change your name unless you change it with the SSA first though (and for that you need the court order).

Also, from what I've heard as long as you have the right gender marker on your license Nevada law allows you to use whatever public bathroom you prefer. No discrimination there either. All in all, this is not a bad state to be trans in; people here tend to have a "live and let live" mentality.  ;D
