QuoteHow FINGER LENGTH could reveal your sexuality: Study finds women with more 'male' hands - where the ring and index digits are of different sizes - 'are more likely to be lesbian'

QuoteWomen's index and ring fingers are typically of similar length while in men there is a greater difference.

My fingers appear to be the same length.  So, I guess that makes me more female.

I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

*SIGH*

Yes, the 2D:4D digit ratio

Note that there is a tiny bit off overlap between the normative values...

I just checked my fingers with a ruler.  As best as I could measure, both fingers are about 7.2 cm, so the ratio is close to 1.  There is no noticeable difference to look at them, whereas the photo in that article shows a significant difference.

Lol. My ring finger is longer than my index finger. I'm bisexual. And I'm a guy.

Mine are also so close to the same size, there might be maybe a millimeter difference, if that.

Well, based on our small sample, it would appear trans female have the same length, but trans male, different.  Well, that proves it beyond all doubt!!!    ;) :D :D :D

Hm. Somewhat. My ring finger is slightly longer than my index finger.
Given I am a woman and into women, I guess the article is correct.

Mine are exactly the same, and I'm MTF.
Somehow the kids in my grade 7 class heard of this, and had to check everyone.  I was singled out and embarrassed, but my feelings were already confirming it.  The thought that everyone might "see" me was disturbing.  How could I go through life if a visual test would reliably call someone who is in the closet out?
Luckily the kids were on to some other game soon enough.

Lauren, and mostly in the closet.

PS I hope this doesn't bother others, but I heard that FTM TG people can be identified by their teeth and the shape of their hips.  Don't know just exactly how.  If it was easily "seen" and it was generally known, would maybe parents and doctors then notice and encourage experimentation?  That might be a better world.

wow, that's really interesting! My ring finger is a lot long than my index. Although I am a man attracted to masculinity.

These kind of things are fun.

Same length for me.

I'm straight.
I've taken what others have offered, so now I'm giving back.

I believe this showed your gender, not your sexuality, and by that count are we at 100% in our survey?
Spooky.

Yes, the

Note that there is a tiny bit off overlap between the normative values...

Well from the Wikipedia article:

A study in Germany has found a correlation between digit ratio and male-to-female transgenderism. Trans women were found to have a higher digit ratio than males. This was not true for trans men, however, who were within the average range for biological females.[131]

My ring finger, especially on my left hand (and I'm left handed) is significantly longer than my index finger.  Like a properly manicured index finger nail doesn't reach the base of my ring finger nail.

Just another sign I should have accepted much earlier in my life, what I've know since age 3.  I'm a girl!!!

Proper measuring is important.  :)

I did this measuring, and I am clearly intersex, because the two digits on either hand have the same length, which i understand, is neither typical female or typical male, exactly my biological makeup!
