Hey girls and guys.
I'm Rylie and I'm MTF, I have been  on hormones now for about 5 months, I'm on Evorel patches I'm also on  Finasteride. Now here is the issue I am having. I see bearly any difference.

Now I'm not sure if that is because I'm an idiot and for the first 4 months I was sooo bad at taking the Finasteride I would get busy and forget some times only take it once or twice a week.
Weight lose and muscle change has not happened o my thing is I now have boobs but still look the same everywhere else... any advice would.be great thanks.

The changes on HRT are subtle.  And your body will respond to the hormones differently than anyone else's body.  (Otherwise known as "YMMV".)

Weight loss is unlikely on MTF hormones.  Weight gain is more likely, although it is affected more by eating and exercise habits.  Fat redistribution is likely, but again, the changes are slow and subtle.  Some take a year or two or three.  Muscle bulk may not change much.  You are more likely to notice a loss of strength then of bulk.

You cannot expect the full effect of the hormones and blockers if you do not take them as prescribed.  Patience is required for this journey.

It takes time for some people to notice changes yes I'm pretty sure that you should be taking the finasteride as instructed because if I'm correct it is probably a testosterone blocker which stops you from producing more testosterone which would you know fight the estrogen otherwise and be patient

Get a plastic pill case to keep track of your pills.  I have mine in the kitchen to look at while I make breakfast and dinner.

Finasteride should not do anything to your weight, but it will help to keep your hair growing!
I am Type II diabetic and have to take my medication religiously.  I just developed a routine that I take all medications and supplements just after I ate.  Eating is done, pills get popped in.  Some in the morning after breakfast (for those that I need to take twice a day), and some in the evening right after supper.

Thank you everyone. I've got a ton better with taking my tablets, it was just very hard to remember I've not missed a day now for some time,  I do have a pill pot that has helped. 

I'm pretty sure not taking the Finasteride is the reason for the lack of changes I just wanted to see what you all thought about it, so Thank you

Thank you everyone. I've got a ton better with taking my tablets, it was just very hard to remember I've not missed a day now for some time,  I do have a pill pot that has helped.

Well I know everybody gets different medicines for they're transitioning.
me I've got spirno and estradiol and it seems to be a good combination as long as I remember to take them both that remotely the same time everyday

I wonder what story your blood test is telling. Are they normal CIS female levels?
Also begining hormones is usually a gradual ramping up of dose & therefore blood levels. Often the androgen blocker is introduced first and then estrogen ramped up to provide CIS female levels over a period of months.

Part of the reason for this is to not saturate the estrogen receptors in your body.

A situation prescribing doctors often see is a trans person who through desperation uses black market hormones at full dose from day one causing estrogen receptors to saturate & to shut down.
This causes a regular prescription to have minimal effect.
The cure is to get  completely off mtf hormones and let the male endocrine  balance re-establish. MTF hormones can then be gradually  reintroduced  to the unsaturated receptors.

This is probably not happening to you but may be food for thought when trying to maximise feminisation.

5 months is only the beginning and you already have boobs - good progress!

Hi Rylie! 5 months on hrt is just the beginning. Hormones take time. I've been on hrt for 15 months now, and the changes haven't been super obvious. The biggest thing I see is that my body hair all but stopped growing, and my face looks slightly more fem. I've got boobs, but they are still pretty tiny. Just have patience. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Hey thank you for your reply.
I'm only on low levels but i had some issues with my doctor not doing my blood tests i just got my first ones done last week waiting for it all to be checked now.
My GP really inst helping and i am looking for a new one who is Trans friendly.
tablets are taken now everyday when i wake up. i feel better for it as well.  mood swings are down! that is the big bonus lol.
