Androgel burning when applied?

I'm on androgel testosterone pump. It's a pretty low dose if that helps anyone, but when I apply it on my shoulders it feels like it's burning. Is that normal? I can't find anyone online who talks about it burning when they apply it. Should I ask my doctor about switching to injections?
It's kind of like the sensation when you get hand sanitizer on an open wound, except I don't have a wound there and it's all over the skin I apply it on and not in a certain spot.

It's best to ask your doctor - they have access to your medical records and other information necessary to get the best decision for your situation.  They might come up with something else, for example a switch to Androderm patch instead of gel.  Or injections.

I used Androgel. It never burned. But, eventually, I switched to injections, better results.

Androgel should not cause a burning sensation.

You have a skin sensitivity which could just get worse or it may go away on it's own.

Either way, you should talk to your doctor and let him or her know what is happening.

There are other choices, as others have mentioned. No need to tough it out.
