Hello sisters. I'm so new here and I would like to ask MTF trans who are on. HRT whether you guys masturbate sometimes or not. I've heard some trans people said that when on HRT a trans shouldn't masturbate as it will cause negative side effects such as producing more testosterone which is unwanted for trans like us. I just need to be clarified if it's really true that masturbating will break the HRT which I am on.

I'm on Cyproterone Acetate <dosage not allowed> tablet  and Estradiol Valerate <dosage not allowed> taken daily for two years now.

Hi offshore426 🙋‍♀️ Welcome to Susan's Place!  I'm Jessica.
I have not heard of any correlation to increased Testosterone after masturbation.  The libido can stay quite alive on mtf hrt and I don't believe there are negative consequences physically.  Mentally some may feel distress.
You may have noticed that the dosages were removed from your first post.  Dosages are not allowed on the forums because the may give the idea to those that are intent on self medicating that your dosage is appropriate for them, this is a very dangerous situation and should always have a doctors say.  Please review TOS #8 in the link I provide below to the site rules.

I see you're new here, so I'll post some links that may help you get better acquainted with the site. Pay attention to the site rules they can be of great help and don't forget the link highlighted red.  It has answers to questions that are commonly asked.  Then join in on a topic you find interesting and learn and share.

Please feel free to stop by the Introductions Forum to tell the members about yourself!

If you are one of our younger members, please stop by the Youth Introductions Forum and get acquainted with us all!

I masturbate sometimes and it hasn't seemed to have any negative effect on me. Honestly, though I would suggest asking your doctor if you're worried about it. They should definitely know for sure.

Before I started hormones masturbation caused me a lot of gender dysphoria. I really hated it, but I also didn't seem to be able to stop myself. It really sucked. But, after I was on hormones for about a month, the physical sensations that came along with masturbation and orgasm changed and they no longer caused me any distress. By itself, this made taking the hormones worthwhile for me!  ;D

Good luck!

I'm really interested in this topic, too. I am not on HRT yet, but I have already seen a shift in masturbation.

Before I started transitioning, I masturbated basically every day, and it was something to do to get rid of the feeling to need to masturbate. When I started transitioning(and i'm sure tucking all the time helps this) I felt the need to masturbate drastically reduce.

Now, when I do it, it's more about me, and feeling good. So, I actually enjoy it, and maybe that's why I do it less. I often find myself faced with decisions of what I have time to do, and I decide not to masturbate.  I don't really feel any need to masturbate anymore beyond wanting to be more 'ready' for potential future partners.

Part of it could be a chemically mental thing, I think. Even though I am not blocking my T, I am making it harder for my penis to make itself known and so I just think about it less.  When T is actually reduced, a similar or greater effect could come about.  And I think the pleasure derived from masturbating will increase ten-fold, while the need to do so will drop even more.
Looking to make and keep friends! Spreading the love, now that I can truly love myself!

Hi! I've been on HRT for over a month now. I started on low-doses of estradiol before increasing it and starting spiro. When I first started spiro, I didn't have much of a sex-drive, and on top of that, i've begun to experience some numbness in my testicles. While I had expected this, I will say it was something that I had to adjust to- I'm naturally hypersexual and I am used to this state.

It took awhile and a lot of concentration, but I started to experience orgasms again last Saturday, thanks to a magic wand. This got me started and I can get erections and orgasm in a variety of ways. Because of the onset of changes in my body, it does feel a lot stronger, as if my whole body is more involved.

If you're okay with that part of your body and you're willing to give yourself some time, it is possible to masturbate and enjoy sexual activity with a partner on HRT.

I can't see that masturbation would cause a spike in testosterone at all. You are barely exercising the are so to speak and as long as you take an anti-androgen, the little factories have trouble producing any.

One thing I have noticed is that orgasms from solo love or sex with a partner, have changed. In some instances, they are weaker but in others, they are stronger and entire body orgasms. I know you did not ask about this specifically,  but there is evidence that orgasms are really good for a person's health. I've learned which activities "optimize" the experience and they are somewhat different than in the past. Regardless, I would describe HRT as having reduced the desire for solo activity by a lot.

I'm interested in this subject as well. My schedule is at least as regular as yours. ;) It's something I fear losing, but at the same time, it would be a necessary loss to become the woman I want to be.
