I am female, so why is my body male?

This is a segment of my introductory post:

How strange it is for one's gender and sex to be different at all, let alone completely different.  I know that most people would say that for me to assert myself as female is to ignore reality.  But from my perspective, expecting me to play the part of a male, and to come alive and to feel fulfillment by doing so, is to ignore reality.  And to almost anyone else, this sounds entirely psychological in nature.  I see it, though, as a physical problem: I am female, so why is my body male?

Welcome BlueStar!
You wont find many people here who will say you are ignoring reality. Being born with a gender that is not aligned with our sex is the essence of gender dysphoria.

Science has shown that people who experience have gender dysphoria have a physical difference in the makeup of our brain. Why this happens, who knows? There are several ideas as to what the cause of being born this way is.

In the end it really doesn't matter. This is our reality and our normal. Nobody has the right to say otherwise. It is hard to grasp and accept, but we are here to help you through this!

I read that your partner is Moonflower! She is a wonderful woman and very supportive! You are very blessed to have her in your life. She can be your anchor and support. Having someone that close to you is so amazing!

Being the real you is one of the most important things in life. You only get one shot.

Welcome here.  You ask why your body is male?  Well something went not as planned while you were in your mothers womb, and the wrong body parts were assigned to you brain!

Simple as that, and now you have the chance to correct that slight mistake!

Hi Bluestar:

I have had many discussions with your spouse Moonflower.  She is great!

I have found that there is no satisfactory answer to why we are female in a male body.  It is like asking why am I left handed?

We just are.

The next question is what do we do next?  The answer must be inside each of us.  What I do know is that by coming to this forum I now know I that I am not alone, I am not a freak and that the world needs to grow up.

I am not leaving, we are not leaving.

I wish you peace and the hope you find your own way.  You deserve it.

Emma
