Hey everyone!

I think I made a big step yesterday!

A friend of mine and her girlfriend took me out to Sephora to try some makeup I might like, and they introduced me to one of the workers there as "She/her". I was a little nervous at the time because I was presenting somewhat male, so I was scared of being harassed or judged or whatever. Then I was taken away by the store rep and she was super nice and understanding! She found me a nice foundation that matches my skin and asked me my preferred pronouns, to which I happily said "She/her please!"

It was a fantastic day and I felt so happy to actually be myself out in public for once!

Next step: Redoing most of my wardrobe.

Janna,

That was wonderful!  May you have many more pleasant times ahead of you!

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Congratulations. I went to Sephora in 2015 and had an awesome experience. I generally go to Urban Decay but I like Bare Minerals eye shadow the best. All the places are super nice and helpful.

I am so happy your friend is helping you. :)
