Nearly 25 years in telecommunications with IT know-how being a necessary skill set in order to stand out and to be able to provide an end to end service for my clients.
I'm a one stop shop problem solving machine.

Lol. Wish I could solve my own problems as easily.

If I needed the services of an IT professional I would be concerned if it turned out they weren't trans.
(LOL).

It really is uncanny! Funny that interacting at various workplaces over the last 30 years I have only met 1 or 2 trans individuals.

Everyone must dress conservatively male at work and go en femme in the evening!
The girls probably go butch masculine.!

(LOL).

I have never knowingly met a trans person.  But work in the lab was so gender neutral, every body wore the same, rather ill fitting, lab coat.  The medical people could be separated from the engineering type people by the pocket protectors which the Reengineering people always had in the breast pockets of the lab coats.
If you came across a person with a pocket protector, you could bet it was not a medical person!

So, after reading this entire thread I come away with this impression. If only I had been in IT or in engineering, I could have been a transsexual or a cross dresser too. Oh gosh, if I had only known.

I will add my count to the mechanic group. I would also count in the educator category. I am surprised not to see more volunteers from the school system. I know a few teachers.
If I ever offend you, let me know. It's not what I am about.

Yay, another Heathkit person.  Although I got started in 1972 stealing time on university computers, the first one I owned myself was a Heathkit H-11, which I named FRED, for "frankly" ridiculous electronic device.

Being an educator (my ex is one, too), you certainly know all about life long learning!  It is thus never to lat, to hopp onto the IT bandwagon!
You still could become a trans and cross dresser if you would do that!  >:-)

I have way too much fear and don't want to totally turn my life upside down to try to figure out how to adjust the vertical hold on somebody's computer. lol I know, I know, I'm gonna miss out on that other fun stuff! Besides, "IT" is a little too Steven King for me.
