Hi All,

So checking at my measurements I am coming in as 34" to 34 1/2" in my underbust. 40 1/2" around the breasts/over the nipples, and 35" as the over bust (top of the rib cage/underpits) measurement. So that is apparently a 6" difference almost turning into a 7" difference (Weird) and bra calculator says I am an F cup.

Really I am more of an A cup or a B cup and I don't think I am a C cup.

I don't know what to do. I have 34 B cup Bras and about 2 34 C cup bras. I also have 36 B cup bras and one 36 C. The 34 B cup bras and I think the 34 C cup bras have padding on the underbust, and it bothers me sometimes. I seem to like more the ones with out  weird underbust padding. The 36 C feels nice and ample and it doesn't have underbust padding and I think it is a full coverage bra.

Should I even consider an F cup bra?

https://feminizationsecrets.com/transgender-crossdressing-bra-size/

Forgot to add, but I am about 182lbs and 5'11" 1/2. I am apparently big framed from what i recall either 6" wrists or 6" 1/2.

Oh, don't look at my avatar that was me when I was like 25 years old or 26?. I'm 33 now :(

Yeah that doesn't sound right you might want to go somewhere and have them do the measurements they would probably be a little bit more accurate I myself chose Victoria's Secret they were wonderful they were kind they did not judge a completely help and measured I don't know about shopping there because they were really freaking expensive

I have small nipples. So I don't think nipple length is a factor while measuring for me. I wonder where I messed up. I didn't lean forward while measuring lol. Hmm, I've had a bit of tuburous breasts, but since 6 months ago I went under a doctor's care and he placed me on progesterone (At my request) and they, I think, have been filling out. I just started PIO and I think it is helping much more. Still, I am puzzled on the F cup size. What if I go up to 41"? Then I will be a G cup! How large is a G cup anyway? ...  Oh, wow, well I'd be happy to be that size, but really I'm no where near something like that. If I was that size I'd probably would have a lot of money and I don't have a lot of money :(. Quite the opposite really!

Go get measured.

Also keep in mind that this is a measure of projection, and I think you are thinking about fullness which are not entirely related. I wore a 34B and barely filled them (super push) because I had the projection but not volume. Now after implants I'm a 34DD and have the volume but everyone thinks I'm more like a C because of the wider-ish shoulders.

Get measured and buy what feels right, don't get hung up on the number/letter.

Yes, I think you are right. I have good projection? But no fullness. I guess I should try doing the water displacement method with the breasts just to see how much volume my breasts do have.

"Archimedes (water displacement) procedure. The Archimedes method involves submersion of the breasts into a water-filled container to calculate the amount of displaced water. "

But how are they going to measure differently at the store? Or is it eye balling it to see what 'looks right'?

If I were to do the water displacement method just what will I be comparing it to I wonder?

======

So I stumbled on a search "breast implant volume and cup size" and it seems like generally when doing a cup size increase for someone it usually falls around 100 to 200 cc depending on build, frame, etc. I guess that if I were to do the water displacement method I could at least think every so many 100 to 150cc could be considered a cup size.

You need the reassurance of someone else doing the measurement for you.  It is hard to be objective when measuring  breasts. Too many issues, Many GGs wear the wrong size bra.

Getting measured at the store is a start.  That tells them which bras to bring for you to try on.  The true test is trying on several bras, with the store employees checking to see how they fit.

They measured me as a 38A.  But I couldn't fill any of the 38As they brought me.  The best fit was from a 36B, which I wear now with an extender to reduce the pressure of the band.

In the last couple of years of serious clothes shopping, the one thing I have learned is that sizes on women's clothes mean nothing.  I have tried on 12s that were smaller than 8s, Smalls that were too big and Larges that were too small.  Bras are probably the worst, especially for trans women, with our large rib cages.

Try them on and wear what fits.

I went to Victoria's Secret to be measured. The bras there are pricy, but I bought one so that the girl that measured me would get her commission.

It sounds like you're a lot like me because we were born the wrong gender we tend to have a wider chest and rib cage so it can definitely throw off the size measurements when we do get measured me I thought I was bigger I thought I was in the forties so I had bought some cheap balls from Walmart best place to get them cheap and it turns out that I was buying wrong size I went to Victoria's Secret and got sized and it turns out that I am a 34 to 36 B and either love having a ball that fits snug and comfortably it really seems to make a big difference

Well you did better than me I got measured two different times and bought four different balls I love their Bombshell bra because it gives me the extra cup sizes and when I bought it it was buy one get one free so that was a very good thing at $70 each LOL

When you measure your underbust measurement right below the breasts what do you get? Are you 34" or 36" across? Like someone else mentioned here if you are more than this then did you get an extender? Does that smaller band dig into your skin?

Also, is 34" across the underbust too large for a gg female? I'm 5'11" 1/2 I tried to search online on average female ribcage size, but it seems to be littered with MtF questions and information.

A quick google search on "average american bra size by height" yields and article from Dec 17, 2015

"34DD is the average American bra size

A 2013 survey from lingerie retailer Intimacy revealed the average bra size in America is 34DD — a leap from the average 34B it was 20 years earlier. There are several reasons as to why, including inflated cup sizes, plastic surgery, and the rising obesity rate. After all, breasts are largely made up of fatty tissue, meaning the more fat a person has, the bigger the breasts.

Fusion also points out bra sizing has simply gotten more accurate, thanks to Oprah. In 2005, she dedicated an entire show to helping women discover their true size and demanding professional bra fitters follow suite presumably after a 2004 study found 80 percent of all women were in the wrong size bra. Women who thought they were a B found out they were really a DD. The way to deduce your bra size is to subtract your band size from your bust measurement, so 37 inches (bust) — 34 inches (band) equals 3 inches or a 34C, Real Simple explained."

Then there is a google result labeled  Jan 7, 2013

"What is the average cup size for a woman?
In the last 15 years, the average bust size has increased from 34B to 36C. Whether the lift is due to breast augmentation surgeries or a side-effect of expanding waistlines is not known. Either way, from slinky to full-coverage undergarments, bras have graced the bodies of women since the 1800s."

My mom's Bra band size is a 36. I do not know how many inches she really is across though. She says she thinks she is C, but sometimes I wonder if she can be D. Though really none of my business!

What I'm looking for is just the band size not the height. Several articles mention 34" and some others add 36". I guess that if I stay at 34" band size or lower, like getting myself down to 32", then at least in terms of band size I should be "OK"? As in perhaps my ribcage is not TOO big?

To hit 32" I probably would have to lose weight down to something like 170lbs or maybe 175lbs? When I was younger, like avatar ish for example, I was something like 31" waist and 32" under bust or 33" can't really remember, but I was skinnier too. Not sure if I can hit those numbers, but I could try losing some pounds to become lighter and see what happens. Something tells me I can't hit 32" anymore :(.I am a vegetarian too so I probably am to some degree slim-ish already. Maybe I just have to work out more and more and moaaarh!!!

Sweetie calm down don't put so much thought into it go to a place and get measured I promise that is the best decision you can make for me it is 34 to 36 across that's going all the way around me I crossed my nipples my chest itself and all the way around my back

That link instructs one to measure band size ABOVE the breasts.  I've always heard that to measure the band size one should go by the underbust measurement.  Meaning measure band size by measuring UNDER your breasts.

I cant believe I missed that. I guess that I am actually DD or E cup! Still too large. My top of the ribcage measurement has always been 1"bigger than my under bust. No way I can lower that one. That one truly is set! If I do underbust I get the crazy DDD or F cup size! Thanks for pointing that out.

Arianna it sounds like the number came from going over the nipples. I meant more of the underbust measurement that is right below the breasts. I was wondering about that because I wanted to know what the average band size of US women is. From the sounds of it 34¨ and definitely less is the average band size for some women... not all of course! That would also depend on size Id guess. Petite women 5 feet under wont have that i think.

A 32 inch band fits me and I fit in XS clothes.  Sometimes the shoulders are too big.
  •

Marion that is really cool. Since you said 32 inch band does this mean your underbust measurement is also 32"? Or less? What is your frame size? Take a look at this website: https://www.healthline.com/health/womens-health/average-weight-for-women#frame-and-weight

For me my wrist size came out as 6.5" so I ended up with a large frame. How about you? For my height of 5'11" 1/2 I should weigh between 155–176lbs. I checked today at the gym and I am at 182 lbs. I guess I need to slim down about 5 ish pounds!
  •

Linde

I have a band width of 42, and about a small B size, or a very large A size.  B size cups of bras with that band width are gigantic, and A size cups are not available width that band width.  I found that I can use a 40 band width bra with an extender.  The B size cups are still pretty large (and no A's available either), but a "chicken cutlet" with it is enough to fill that cup.  I found I cannot go with less bandwidth, because my girls are to far apart for the lower band width bras.
Te burden o a big chest!
But on the fun side, I have very well developed pecs, and can make the girls twerk!

I am not sure yet, whether we need to look at male or female weight tables.  After all, most of our bodies structure is still male!  I am 6' and my goal weight is somewhere around 180 lbs.  If I would weigh less, I would look pretty bony ( I know that, because some 100 years ago, I was at that weight).  I am currently around 195 lbs, and I do not look overweight!
