Don't give up Jessica. The trick is sticking to it.

I think I broke through my plateau. I weighed in this morning at 181.9 pounds. So I'm officially no longer over 182 pounds!

Interesting enough I discovered a young persons group for twenty something trans people in the Dallas area. Too bad I'm in my late thirties. :/

Glorious indeed!! I just don't have the frame for this much weight. Thankfully so far the weight loss has not effected my bust size other then the third boob, as another thread called It, which has shrunk considerably but not yet gone away.

So far I have noticed that a lot of the weight has come off of my face, arms, legs and some from the torso. Right now I really want to burn the remaining belly fat off. Some I am keeping up the yoga and practicing my forms and doing things like the v sit to help target the stomach area. It's working, just slowly so.

Today I just got done with a 12 minute mile jog and I felt like I could do it again if I wasn't starving for lunch. So now I'm going to eat a farm house salad I made and maybe play some Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii U while I talk on the phone with my boyfriend back home.

Later today I'll take another jog and then do my hair tonight because I think the hot water pump should have been fixed by now.

Yesterday I weighed in at 182.6 and today I weighed in at 182.5 pounds. I think maybe that darn scale lied to me or I'm retaining water.

But on the bright side a sports bra I bought that was on a xl hanger but I failed to notice was actually a medium does fit me like a glove. So in the grand scheme of things I am quite happy as I couldn't wear it a few months ago.

So while my number went up smaller clothes are fitting better and that is the end goal. That said I'm still aiming to be under 181 this week.

I had Chipotle on Monday. That was a absolute mistake because it plugged me up horribly. I'll never eat there again. Even so I weighed in today at 181.8 pounds so I think that I have burned some more fat.

Thanks Danielle and ChrissyRyan. It really helps having support.

Another person outside of the forums has been losing their own weight too. I found out yesterday that she has developed loose skin from losing her weight too fast. She was also doing the keito thing. I feel bad that she has the loose skin but I'm also glad I don't.

I have passed her by on weight loss, have no loose skin and continue to lose weight. I keep trying to tell her stop the fad dieting and simply cut your calories but eat balanced meals and exercise.

The take away is there are no shortcuts. The hard way is the only way but it's not really that hard it just requires self control.

Dear Natalie:
Yes, self-control and determination and losing weight at a little slower pace usually works best...  and of course when seeing the progress that you are experiencing it gives you great motivation to continue.   It is when plateaus are hit and weight loss stalls, that is when some people give up....

The loose skin issue can be a problem but for many, unless the weight loss is substantial, the skin will tighten up somewhat  with time.
Hugs and continued best wishes,
Danielle

For sure seeing the results helps. Being able to fit into clothes I haven't been able to wear in a while is great. I'm down to medium sized blouses and size 12 pants so things are proceeding nicely. I just have a little over 40 pounds to go.

The plateaus are a killer. However it's not in me to give up on something. I've had my share of them over the last few weeks. All I can say for others is don't give up because then all the work is for nothing. Don't listen to the nay sayers who say it's impossible to lose the weight.

I am not do sure speed makes the much difference in terms of loose skin... It's more about you collagen production (which declines with age) and how much you lose as well as of course genetics...

From my high weight about 15 years ago, I have lost about 190lbs and I am also in my early  60's now... The issue I have with loose skin means that while I look better when covered up, when not, I look a lot worst than when I was 50lbs heavier...

You were never THAT heavy and you look young ... I think that those thing may have a lot to do with not having loose skin.

The only cure for a lot of lose skin is body contouring surgery... it's major painful "cosmetic" surgery with a long recovery time, and if you need a lot it gets very expensive and is mostly not covered by insurance...

If my job was secure (major layoff not long ago and company running out of money) i would be seriously considering doing the surgery once I lost the rest of the extra poundage (and was until that layoff when we found out the company's money issues) ... Now, knowing how hard it is to get another job at my age, I don't think it will happen, and I wonder if it is worth it to keep pushing to loose the last 25ish lbs...

Right now I am on a plateau at about 179lbs... and a size 16... with my frame I don't know if I could get into a smaller size (at least for tops) even if I lost the rest of the weight. Probably not.

Anyway hope you can reach your goal before too long!

That is destressing. I'm not going to allow myself to get in this situation again.

I know she lost 80 pounds in six months and I lost 54.9 pounds in 5 months.

I hope you can get your skin situation taken care of and find a stable means of living.
