My height is ca. 6 feet (184 cm). Shoulder circumference is ca. 41 inch.
But, my shoulders look very broad as my waist-to-shoulder ratio is far less than 0.75.

I didn't measure circumference because I'm more interested in knowing the actual width. It seems to be around 18-20 inches or 45.72-50.8 cm...  :o I'm only 5' 8" so I think my shoulders look extra wide because of my lack of proportional height. This post makes me feel dysphoric too. I even see cis guys with tiny frames, and envy them. lol!

But an interesting note, at least to me, is that my sister has broader shoulders for a cisgirl (16-17 inches) and she looks totally fine! Could be the boobs and hips tho.. XD

I'm not sure who we got our shoulders from, our parents definitely don't have very broad ones.  >:(

Before HRT, I had 18.5-inch-across shoulders, and now they're 16... The circumference has gone from 45 inches to 42 inches. Geez lol.

Mine are 39 inches, but I'm a lot shorter than many of you at 5'4".

Hi Baribe! I just wanted to thank you for posting that all of those months ago. I'm currently struggling with this myself. I am about 18" across I think, but shoulders are hard to measure across because everyone starts with a different place. So I will just go with waist/shoulders which for me is 32/43 or 0.744. So I'm close to .75 which sounds like the female ratio according to your post.

However there's more, it has to all fit in with the hips which can be trouble. Mine are finally growing just ever so slightly at 38.25. My h/w ratio is .836 which is just about too high. Obviously we're going for larger hips and a smaller waist and shoulders. Changing the waist is the easiest thing to do, but any less and it will decrease my w/s ratio, but if it stays the same or gets bigger to balance out my shoulders it diminishes the h/w ratio.

Basically what I'm saying is that I think MtF shoulders are the biggest burdens because everything has to revolve around them being obscenely large. While the hips may not be proportioned properly, they are at least they within female ranges numerically speaking. I just wish they had shoulder reduction.
Trying to take it one day at a time :)

Oh for the 80s, when women wore shoulder pads to make their shoulders look like enormous inverted V's!

Regardless of the amount of my exercise, my shoulder and hip size do not change so much. The only thing I can do is decreasing my waist size. My hip size is relatively smaller than most women, but my hip width looks OK.

Yes. During this weekend, I decreased my waist size considerably by exercising.

I still can see that style of tops here.

But how did you lose so much upper body mass?

But how did you lose so much upper body mass?

It is genetic. My narrow shoulders and chest, compared with other ordinary boys, had been a stigma at my teens, but it suddenly became a valuable feature when I started presenting myself as a woman. My torso is extremely narrow and long, compared with other men, even with most women here. Of course, I run regularly to maintain it.
