This is a pretty gross story, so keep that in mind. Do not read this if gross bathrooms bother you to hear or read about!
Today I was out shopping for last-minute holiday gifts, when I realized I really had to pee. At the time, we were in a Grease Monkey, getting an oil change, before heading out and getting gifts. There were no apparent bathrooms that I saw in plain sight. I almost asked, "Where is the bathroom?" and probably should have, but instead decided to wait until we got gas on the way to getting gifts. At the gas station, the men's room was absolutely nasty! Obviously someone had diarrhea, and didn't bother to flush. I knew I'd have to leave the bathroom, and complain with my still girly voice. So I walked up to the staff, lowered my voice a bit, and said, "I think the men's bathroom needs to be cleaned." So they came in, flushed, and said, "It's ready to go!" So I went back in, and it still looked pretty bad. So I came back out, and complained again. They said that they'd need to clean it. Knowing that I really had to pee, this would take a while, and this was quickly becoming an emergency at this point, I decided to walk over to a neighboring Wendy's to use their restroom. At the Wendy's, a guy was taking forever in the stall. Only a urinal was available, and I didn't have my peeing-device with. So I walked back out, and played with my phone for a few minutes. As I was waiting, another man walked right into the men's room, and started waiting. At this point I was last in line, and I was about to pee myself, so I darted into the currently empty women's room. Now, this poses some problems for me. For one, I think I pass fairly well, as I have a beard and short hair. Two, it's simply odd going from men's room to women's room. Three, it's uncomfortable for a transman to have to use the women's restroom. Nevertheless, I had given up. This is what I needed to do. At first I thought I'd be lucky and no one would see me. However, of course, a woman walked in right as I was washing my hands, and she did a confused and uncomfortable double-take...but said nothing. I tried to hide...in plain sight, as I walked out.
This was NOT a good bathroom day! We really need all-gendered restrooms!
