Have you ever played a video game so long/often that it's started to affect your brain? I don't mean seeing falling blocks every time you close your eyes, like Tetris - I mean situations where you start mistaking the real world for the game. Robert Coffey wrote in his video game column that his wife was once at the hardware store and he needed to bring her some stuff from their house so she'd know what to buy. He briefly thought: "I'll just teleport them to her," followed by realization of his monumental stupidity.
I've been playing The Sims waaaaaay too much lately - I start thinking about increasing my "relationship points" with people, and then I know it's time to get away from the computer for a while. How about you guys? Have you ever had "video game brain"?
