Hi Maddy!

I'm Cindy, the Forum Admin and a South Australian in Adelaide.
There are  several support groups in Adelaide and in my experience they are all friendly and supportive. One of the best is meeting this Saturday afternoon
https://www.meetup.com/en-AU/SAGenderDiverseAllies/

and you would be made most welcome. Just contact Sam or one of the organisers and join in. They meet at a safe coffee shop in Adelaide and absolutely don't care how you present or how new you are.

They also have a FB page https://www.facebook.com/GenDivSA/ and you can message them from there

Tell them that Cindy sent you!

@LizK is also an SA girl and is more used to the scene than I am, I know she is having VFS on Friday but she might be around to send a Hello before then.

Welcome Hon

Hi Maddy

Been a bit slow the last few days due to the hot weather. Glad you found us and by now you should have received the email I send you. The meeting Cindy is talking about is on this weekend  and I am unlikely to make it as I won't be able to make it due to VFS the day before but it won't be long before I am back up and into it.

Look forward to chatting soon

@Maddyfromoz
Dear Maddy:
I am so very glad that you followed the suggestion and LINK provided by our lovely member @V M  and myself when you were Welcomed to Susan's Place yesterday...  and that you found your way here to the Introductions Forum.

I see that already you have been found by other Australians and are now getting some of the support information that you are seeking.

Please keep reading and posting here on the Forums, you will find this a friendly, helpful, encouraging and safe place to find answers and perhaps friendship with like-minded members.

Again, Welcome to Susan's Place,
Hugs, and well wishes,
Danielle

Hi Maddy, So glad you found this site.  It is a very welcoming place and well worth participating.  I was very happy to see in the responses that there are fellow Aussies that can direct you to groups in your area.

I think that forums such as this one in particular can be very helpful in this journey but real life support is also important.  Support & social groups in addition to a therapist all help in this journey.  I hope you attend some of the local groups that were offered.  It is a little scary at first - I remember when I first went but now I am so happy I did  :)

Hello Maddy (such a lovely name)!   :)

I'm so glad that you were able to find your way here and to also learn that there are Susan's Place members who are able to help you find resources in your area.

But I'm also very sad to hear of the problems you've had with your social circle and family, and wish you the best of luck with finding all of the support you need and absolutely deserve as you continue to make your way forward.

I too am just getting started on my transition journey, and I look forward to hearing from you as your progresses.

Better days ahead Maddy...for both of us!

:)  :)  :)
