What a coincidence! I was just reading that same Guardian article five minutes before coming on Susan's this morning!
Yes, a great find! I was glad that one of the women pictured was a post-op transwoman. The surgeons did a great job on her vulva!
It's not just clinical-type photos, either. The women tell something about themselves and their histories, about how their relationships with their bodies and their genitals have evolved. An interesting read if you have half an hour or so!
By the way, one more thing stood out to me as I read the article. In the first-person write-ups of the women pictured, most of them speak about the doubts and insecurities they have experienced about the appearance of their genitals. Labia "too long?" Or have a "funny shape?" The "wrong" color?
Trans folks have a bad habit of being our own harshest critics. Lots of folks who have had GCS stress out over the resulting appearance. Well, guess what? WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF WOMANHOOD! Because most cis women stress out over EXACTLY THE SAME doubts and fears and insecurities . . .
