Megan.

Interesting article that also contains a type of 'wall of vulvas' image. It's nice to see the variety,  and understand there is no single 'ideal' [emoji3526].

Good find. Its all to easy to compare srs results to what you see in porn rather than what's normal. About as useful (and depressing) as comparing yourself to models.

The Great Wall of Vagina is very similar in that way.

What a coincidence!  I was just reading that same Guardian article five minutes before coming on Susan's this morning!

Yes, a great find!  I was glad that one of the women pictured was a post-op transwoman.  The surgeons did a great job on her vulva!

It's not just clinical-type photos, either.  The women tell something about themselves and their histories, about how their relationships with their bodies and their genitals have evolved.  An interesting read if you have half an hour or so!

By the way, one more thing stood out to me as I read the article.  In the first-person write-ups of the women pictured, most of them speak about the doubts and insecurities they have experienced about the appearance of their genitals.  Labia "too long?"  Or have a "funny shape?"  The "wrong" color?

Trans folks have a bad habit of being our own harshest critics.  Lots of folks who have had GCS stress out over the resulting appearance.  Well, guess what?  WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF WOMANHOOD!  Because most cis women stress out over EXACTLY THE SAME doubts and fears and insecurities . . .

I know that from time to time I have taken a mirror to check it out and see how the results compared to photos. I look ok. I guess everyone has their own preferences but I'm glad I turned out natural looking.

Really interesting article, especially since one of the ladies is trans (although I felt that she apologies too much for her being trans and kept saying that she isn't a real woman - I respect her view but don't agree with it).  I think mine is definitely within 'range' (whatever that is!) and most closely resembles the 28 year old pink cupcake.

Honestly, given that there is such a huge variety of cis vaginas, I think that it would be quite rare for a trans woman to be outed by her vagina once she is a few years post-op (and the scars have faded).

Yay for vulvas!
