Hat tip to Jim Burroway, who brings us news about what James Kirchick of The New Republic found in GOP prez candidate Ron Paul's closet -- tucked away newsletters from the 1990s filled with racism, anti-Semitism and over-the-top homophobia. Paul has said someone else wrote them or that the statements have been "taken out of context."

These newsletters were published monthly under the titles Ron Paul's Freedom Report, Ron Paul Political Report, and The Ron Paul Survival Report.  Kirchik:"
