You need to use an image hosting site, or the Gallery here on the site.

If your picture doesn't have image tags,  [img] [/img] , you can press the button
with a picture of the Mona Lisa above the smilies to get a pair. Then you copy/paste your
image link in between the tags, like this:

[img]http://www.susans.org/forums/gallery/0/59100-151218093705.jpeg[/img]

When you press the Post button, it displays like this.

imgur is a fairly simple image hosting site to use, there are a few others that people like but that's the one I've been using lately 

I'm a bit of a foodie so that's what I tend to take pictures of
