I'm finally getting GRS in just a few weeks!
Surgery scheduled for the last week of April. I'm so excited it's almost impossible for me to focus on anything else.
Does anyone have any advice? I'm so in my own head making arrangements and trying to get ready I'm afraid I going to overlook something important.
What's the most important thing for me to remember? How did you keep your head about you with all the excitement?
Expect that everything will not go as you think. The chances are you may have some small complication, in most cases it will be easily sorted and will cause no real long term harm. Be patient with your recovery.
I agree with the other ladies and especially about listening to your Drs and following their advice. Having a friend around will be helpful but if you are fully prepared for your return home you should be fine.
You will be tired...its a tiring operation. Take your time.
Make sure you can easily connect to the internet and not be reliant on the local hospital WIFI, also ensure you have back up charging for your phone or tablet.
Don't plan on making any important decision for the first week or two after your op. I found it took a little while to recover from the long anaesthetic.
"How did you keep your head about you with all the excitement?"...I don't know that I did LOL You will be on the operating table before you know it....and then you will be awake and it will be all over
Feel free to PM or Email me also if you want to chat....
