Megan.

Please feel free to add anything below you've used, plan to use or wish you'd had during your recuperation at home AFTER a GRS.

Megan.

I'll make a start by adding:

- Neck cushion to sit on.

- Baby/wet wipes for easy hygiene.

- Paracetamol and/or ibuprofen for pain relief. Do NOT use aspirin without the recommendation of your medical professional.

- Netflix/Prime subscription for boredom relief.

- Kindle/Books as above.

- Tins of good quality soup for easy nutrition; try to find ones not too high in salt.

- Ready to drink smoothies,  or frozen fruit and a blender, for easy good nutrition.

- Reusable icepack(s) for swelling.

- Silicone gel (kelo-cote or similar), to aid scar healing AFTER the wound has closed.

- Packs of cheap cotton panties that can be thrown away.

- Panty liners.

I have been keeping a list of things I've used.  (I'm 101 days post op)

GCS home care package:

Anti bacterial liquid hand soap

Bathroom tissue (toilet paper)

Pads of various sizes.  Suggest long or extra long. I got way too many big ones so I created a care package for my friends.

Facial Tissues for dilation cleanup

A few hand towels or face clothes to put over your groin while dilating to prevent getting lube on your sheets. (I dilate when I get up and climb back into bed after peeing to dilate)

Baby wipes

Underpads 24"x24" is plenty big.  https://www.northshorecare.com/underpad-northshore-economy.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=product&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnNXiBRCoARIsAJe_1cql4D3b3OIpcvAQWHr1JEHWXicuGe81MC4i-MD-HYQdvmuYClmUSywaAuVaEALw_wcB#981=9225&881=8990

Epson salts, and I love taking baths (was recommended by my Dr).

I agree with the issue mentioned above with salty foods, I had to avoid too much sodium post op, I think it had to do with stopping "Spiro", took several months to recover from that medicine (my take). Too much sodium for me = nausea / headaches.
