I have been contemplating going to Diva Las Vegas for a couple of months now, but this morning I woke up and my phone was dead. Seems it bit the dust. My laptop would not access the internet so I had to recover my system and good ole Microsoft deleted all my non Microsoft accounts so there went my agenda for Diva's. It also deleted my passwords so I could not get back into Google and access my email, I lost my baggage ticket so it took forever to recover my baggage. We waited for three hours to be able to check in. I left the laptop in the car and the Valet would not let me go to the car because I left my ticket in the room so I had to walk back to the room and my blood pressure was spiking. By the time I got settled it was about 7pm and I had missed today's events, I lost my wallet and luckily someone turned it in, Lastly my friend thinks I have a tree, I pick dollars from.in my back yard and wants to borrow $2500 bucks. May not be my friend long cause I am used to her track record of payback. Oh well tomorrow will be better. Oh yeah. Forget about getting my name changed to Dawn. Lucky would be more appropriate.  We gave my autism a real test. I don't like loud noise. I don't like crowds, I don't have patience and I don't think before I speak and boy did I act like a jerk. Oh well, lovely ladies tomorrow is another day. Wish you were here.

@DawnOday
My dearest Dawn:
Wow... quite a rotten day for sure!!!   We all have them but your rotten day was very rotten indeed.
Take a deep breath or two or three, lay down and rest for a time and think about the more pleasant things that are going on in your life and the good friends that you have here on Susan's Place.   We are all your biggest fans and are here with our ears to listen and our shoulders for you to lean on.

Karma worked to your advantage for you to be able to get your wallet returned.  I have returned many wallets that I have found in parking lots and elsewhere, and when I lost and/or mis-placed my purse with my wallet inside with all of my important credit cards, cash, documents, etc, I was frantic and then I got a visitor into my office that personally delivered my purse intact.
That restored my faith in people, there are good people out there that will do the right thing.

Now that you have gotten most of this out of your system by writing your posting and resolving some of the issues, I will be eagerly looking for your updates about how the rest of your day is going.

Hugs and best wishes...
Danielle

Thanks love but I got this handled. Today is a new day and like all ladies I will fulfill my promise, by shopping and getting a makeover. Then this evening we will be getting our drink on at Bahama Breeze. Yesterday was a once in a lifetime event. The perfect storm. You really had to be there to find out how ridiculous it was. It was just one, on top of another, of another.  But hey Spring has sprung and all is well.

I had to recover my system about a year ago when some file became corrupt.  All of my own files seemed to disappear, made even more complicated because I kept the most important ones in my Programs folder.  (I started doing that when I learned that criminals who encrypt people's files for ransom usually don't encrypt files in the Programs Folder - victims can't pay ransoms if they can't use their computers.)

After much investigation, I discovered that the files were still there but that Microsoft had changed the paths, e.g files on the old Desktop would not be on the re-installed Desktop, and files in the old Programs folder would not be in the re-installed Programs folder.  Similarly for the old and re-installed My Documents folder, etc.  In fact, even the NAMES of those original folders will NOT be Desktop, Programs or My Documents!  If you exactly remember some file names and search for them, you might just find that they are still there, and then work out the new paths to find them all.

And that's when I'm glad I use a Mac. With iCloud, all passwords are saved in the cloud as well as settings and bookmarks, etc. I do time machine, some dropbox and google drive too. It's like having a roaming profile on windows. Sorry this happened to you though. I have tried to get out of the Apple ecosystem, but it was a mess and not as integrated.
