Hello, everyone!

My name is Zoey. I am new to this site and I already love it.

I am a 34 year old transsexual woman and I recently came out late last year. Though, I have felt like I was trapped in the wrong body for over 15 years. I am 5'10" and weigh 143 pounds (trying to regain weight I lost due to a pretty rough patch in my life).

I am a medically retired Staff Sergeant and was in the US Air Force. I served six years and completed two combat tours in the Middle East. I suffer from PTSD, back issues, and a few other minor things. My AFSC was 2W171, Aircraft Armament Systems Craftsmen. My job was to load and maintain the weapons systems on fighters. I worked on the F-15E Strike Eagle and the F-16C/J Fighting Falcon. My first Expediter gave me the call sigh "5th Gen", as I a fifth generation US military. My family has served in every major conflict since 1903, when they first imigrated to the US.

I came out last year when I finally came to a resolution. I no longer wanted to de confined to the gender box that others felt like I should be in. Living the life that I wanted, rather than caring what some close minded people though, became much more important to me. Since coming out as a transsexual to my family as well as some of my close friends has been a liberating experience. It feels like my life has begun anew.

I began HRT on April 17th, 2019. I am currently taking Spironolactone and Estradiol daily. My first session of vocal therapy begins next week. I am very grateful that the VA has been supportive of my transition and covers both of these treatments.

So very stoked to currently be transforming into the smexy woman of my dreams. Lol

I hope that I can make many new friends here. If there is anything you wish to know about me feel free to ask. No question is off the table for me.

Dear Zoey:
Thank you for following the LINK that I gave to you in my Welcome Message on the first thread that you posted on earlier today... and coming to the Introductions Forum.

Now that you have introduced yourself to many members here on the forums and you also have posted several comments around the various threads you will find that you will get involved in conversations, share your mutual thoughts and more than likely make some new friends here.

Please be certain to look over the informational LINKS that I included at the bottom of my Welcome Message on the other thread.   There you will find answers to many questions that new members may ask.

Again, Welcome to Susan's Place.  I am looking forward to seeing your future postings and comments all around the forums.

Best Wishes to you,
Danielle

Hello Zoey,

First of all, thank you very much for your service to our country! Also, thank you for the introduction. I do hope that all goes well with the HRT and voice training. I would be interested to know how the voice training goes. You can PM anytime after you have fifteen posts in the forum.

Welcome Zoey!

Seems there are a fair amount of veterans on this site.  I am pretty new here myself and have ran into several veterans just this week.  I'm 3rd Gen. My specialty was damage control in general and aircraft crash and salvage specifically.  I was originally an aviation anti-submarine warefare tech but changed tracks when I saw how heavily loaded that specialty was.  I wish you the best!
