Hi all,

Just registered, but I've been lurking in the forums for a while. I'm late 40's married and male, but wondering if at least one of those descriptions might need to change.

Been dressing in women's clothes for a long as I can remember, in a familiar cycle of activity and purging. Always wondered about my sexuality but recently have started to wonder if it is a gender issue.

To be honest I don't know where I am, but the more I read on here the more I think other people here have had the same thoughts, feelings and needs.

Karen is my chosen name, say hi. I'm new. And a little lost.

Aww, don't be lost, Karen, welcome :)
Be sure you aren't alone and people here actually had same thoughts or even still have it ;) Here we have support for both transgenders and crossdressers - enjoy :)
In a few moments other people will give you bunch of links, reading them will help you a bit.

Hi, Karen!

Welcome to Susan's Place.

Relax, you are in the right place!  Your story sounds like a lot of members' stories.  I had quite a few buy and purge cycles, until I realized at age 61 that I had to do something about it.

Here is some information that we like to share with new members:

Welcome Karen,

I am 50. I'm in my second marriage and have dressed since a child.  The Dysphoria caused me to question my sexual orientation and I explored that a bit but after a few uneasy and unsatisfying experiences I sought out therapy where my dysphoria was diagnosed and is now being addressed.  Living in a world unsure of anything including yourself can feel lonely and crazy at times.  Don't be either.  What you feel is normal.

Best regards,

Bea

Thanks again to all the people that have welcomed me.

Danielle - I confess to having read all of your thread (new and old) in my lurking days. You are beautiful inside and out.

Bea - you seem to be speaking my thoughts. How is everything going for you now? How did it feel to discuss disphoria and did you immediately recognize this as the cause or did it take time to accept?
