Unfortunately, it is far too easy to track someone down given a callsign.

By the way, hams can go to the FCC online registration and trivially change their name.  I was not required to submit ANYTHING, and did it the day before my court appearance to change name and gender.  Once updated it gets pushed out to various online databases automatically.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Thanks Michelle, I still have my dead name with FCC, and it's kinda of embarrassing  ::), it's like the last thing in my social transition needing work and I do want to update this, it's coming due for renewal in a few years, I might just wait till then. As far as operating on the air, I do sign "Cynthia or Cyndi" on CW in QSO's, I know this technically "outs" me, but in the grand scheme of things, it's nothing. Ham radio is a great hobby, I am into emergency preparedness to some extent. Love CW and weak signal work, have all the DX countries confirmed here. My latest antenna I put up last winter was a 90' top load vertical for 160 ! out in our trees. You can't see my antenna farm from the street, I hide the VHF / UHF arrays behind the house, I like being "stealth"....

I will have to pass.  A single search for your call sign will give your name and address.  I used a P.O. Box for my address on my ham license for that reason.  We had someone chatting on local VHF talking about the weekend planned at the lake with family.  Someone promptly searched for their address and robbed their home that weekend.  Being transgender brings a whole other reason not to share your name and address with the World Wide Web.

I am a ham, have been since the 1990's.  Still a tech, I just haven't taken the time to go General class.  Code requirement has been removed, so it should be no problem. I also have my GROL with RADAR endorsement too.  98% on my GROL, I was competing with a study friend who actually got a 100% on his GROL commercial license.

I'm VE3<redacted>.  I got my licence 47 years ago.  Back then, there were 2 licence classes in Canada, Amateur and Advanced Amateur.  I got my advanced a year & 2 days after I got my first.  The law was you had to wait a year between the 2.  The extra 2 days was because that was the soonest I could get an appointment for the test.

I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

Just a tech with no really fancy gear.  I mostly use it as a long range CB when off road or camping.

Years ago, when I had a decent antenna, I'd often work RTTY around the world on 20M.

HF is cool stuff but I just don't have the time to mess with it.  One of these days...

For those of you following this thread, Google me.  I'm probably one of the easiest Transgender person in the world to find.

My goal is to blend in; but at the same time, I want to stand out enough to help others who struggle with G.D.  When I first found out about G.D. I thought I was the only one on the planet who thought the things I did.  Since then I find there are a lot of others.  I want to help people reach their potential and putting myself out there is how I do it.

I love ham radio!  I've been licensed since 1998 and been a General Class since 2000.  I recently moved and don't have my station back up yet, so for now I'm restricted to mobile/handheld VHF/UHF operations for now.  Hopefully next week or so my HF antenna will be back up.

I've always had a VE3 call.  However, it was initially a 3 letter call and then a 2 letter call.  In Canada, you had to be operating for 10 years, before applying for a 2 letter call.

I was 18 when I got my first call.  One thing I recall from back then was getting licensed in Canada was more difficult than the U.S.  The Novice exam had nothing on what we had to pass.

So do you girls prefer ragchewing, DX'ing, contesting, or emergency preparations?  Aside from contesting, my answer is a little bit of everything.  I'm just not a contester, but I love chasing DX and ragchewing with my friends.

Mostly ragchewing.  I used to go for Field Day a lot but, beyond that, I really wasn't into contests.  Of course, I also spent many hours, while commuting, on 2M and 440.

I've not been in the air much.  Maybe I'll set up a 10m or 12m wire antenna on my balcony.  But I've been known to contest and rag-chew.  I used to be active on 3905 Century Club and the Geritol net.
