Davina's diary vol 3, life goes on... continued

Well the alarm didnt go off and the lady on the till never looked on my invoice I printed off and just put it on the machine to remove it. Keyboard bashing I bought an interior for a BMW 4 series in red leather , front and rear seats and door cards. Need it to make the floor up when I get the sheet steel to make it.
 So I had my chef hat on this afternoon (as well as doing a load of washing) making a Vindaloo using some of the pork joint I bought, the rest will be roasted I think. Then I spent 3/4 of an hour coring, peeling and chopping apples from Ds tree  to make apple chutney , whole pack of raisins, 1 1/2 bottles of cider vinegar and almost a packet of muscovado sugar go in the pan. Will bottle it when its cooled.

Well I will be "busy on" today (local saying) cutting more rusty bolts and removing body panels from the Herferod. Up to my neck in rust and dust!!! Not very lady like? I have been following Annie's VW on FB as she builds a VW beetle and there are also a lot of girls building stuff in the hot rod world. We all have wrecked nails!

I know the struggle. The only time my nails look nice is in winter when I'm not washing rocks. 😕

I am feeling the work I am doing, crashed out last night. Still aching but less so as I hope my muscles are responding to the work and I regain some strength I have lost. Hopefully I will burn some fat off as well.
  Its cloudy and dull this morning with showers moving in they say and high of 15C, right time to bust some more nails!!!!

After reading a day in the life of Sara B here is a day in the life of Davina B. Waking up around 7am I put the radio on next to my bed and listen to local radio for 1/2hr or so, news, weather and what's going on.
 Up and do my ablutions then make my breakfast, put some tomatoes and cucumber in my lunch box and make a flask of green tea. Porridge in microwave, blueberries and seeds go on after, cup of black coffee and on the laptop to check forum's while I eat breakfast. Then after an hour!! I get into my work gear and drive 7 miles to my workshop. Make lots of noise and dust (at the moment) and 4.30 ish I go back home to play lucky dip with my shower. The water pressure keeps going up and down so electric shower either burns or freezes. Dinner next sat watching TV and a bit of laptop again. Bad Chad on y tube before its time to go to bed. As a variation Sunday I call on mum on the way to workshop and Thurs its food shop and batch cook day.

I have a good lump by the corner of my right eye, pry bar slipped out and the handle hit me on temple. well the eye socket bit, just missed my ear bit on my glasses. Good job as cant afford new frame, I cost nothing to heal. Not going to sleep on my right side tonight!!!

Maybe use a cold compress or ice to keep the swelling down. You might end up with a black eye. Sorry to hear that, Davina. I guess it's a hazard of the trade. Bad pry bar. Bad!

Oh No!..Poor Girl!!!! Sending the best thoughts your way for speedy resolution to any pain!... I hit my noggin a couple weeks back myself... First time in a very long time... No fun!

Logistics, don't talk to me about logistics (Said in a Marvin the paranoid robot way) . So ordered some sheet steel and it will be delivered tomorrow morning to my workshop, great but then the delivery details came in the post for the BMW seats I bought off the bay. Guess what they are coming on a pallet tomorrow to my flat (to be stored in my garage) ,no time when I check on line yet. Might be a problem as its 7 miles to my workshop, about 15mins with all the slow traffic now.

So the pallet delivery phoned me at 10.30 while I was at the workshop waiting for the steel sheet to turn up, 11.15 when that happened. Asked the pallet driver to drop it by my garage but flat 8 had parked in the driveway so no chance of getting in the carpark with a lorry. Still can't be in 2 places at once, BTW bloke in 8 is on oxygen and cant walk far. I have moved his car before now out of the way.

I woke about 3am for a wee as normal but do you think I could get back to sleep, my brain was building my new hot rod. Must have been a good hour plus by the time I nodded off and now have a fuzzy brain (nothing new then) so it's a good job its food shop day with afternoon cooking time. Problem is what to get to batch cook? I have run my freezer down and need to top it back up a bit a week as well as more veg. I like cooking but it can be a faff finding a simple recipe so you dont keep eating the same meals every week.
