I gave away my Star Wars Legos to a stay at home mom with a 3 year old.  I know her from the garden club and realized it would really help her out.  I bought the Legos to better understand the younger generation when I was working.  I wanted to compare that experience versus the models I built in the 1970s.


That was a nice gesture, giving the legos.

I signed up for Senior resident membership at the private golf club that is only five minutes away.
The town owns the land so they let senior residents pay no green fees on Mondays!  My membership cost $65, maybe 1% or 2% of the initiation fee most people have to pay.

They called in a pro to look at my application and was called "miss."
I believe that allows me to dress according to their dress code for women, which is less strict than the code for men.  I was wearing a knee length skort, untucked golf shirt, a pink hat, and floral golf shoes.  My nails were painted pink.  There dress code says nothing about skirts and men have to tuck in their shirts.

I like wearing women's bottoms because I'm curvy enough to wear them without a belt.
Skorts don't have belt loops, so women don't wear belts.  If you tuck in a shirt a belt is needed to hold everything together.  Hence the difference in the shirt tucking rules.

Golfing helped me reduce my waistline from 28 to 24 inches!

Getting ready for a potluck party today.
First time I'm wearing open toe sandals and glitter red nail polish on my toenails!
Pink hat, red polo with pink dots, and a pink print knee length skirt.

Bringing pecan pie to the party.

I measured my waistline and I dropped another inch to 23 inches! 
I plan on eating a lot!

You probably can eat whatever you want most of the time unless it is a food that upsets you.

It turned out great.  The weather was mostly cloudy, in the 70s, and it didn't rain!
Plenty of good food.  I was there for about four hours and had a bunch of good conversations.

After getting dizzy on the golf course last week I figured out that I was over dosing on one of my high BP meds.  Sure enough, after cutting the dose in half, my BP is a good 115/75.  Some studies suggest that as an optimal BP. My PCP wrote me a new prescription.

I told my Facebook friends that wearing high heels was a "medical necessity" for improving my balance.
It was well received.   ;D

Did you check your ears?  Sometimes that causes balance issues.

My heart rate is lower now, in the 60s and 70s instead of the 80s and 90s, now that I've taking less BP medication.  Sometimes less provides more benefit! 

I played golf without getting dizzy.
Made my first Par 4 of the season.  A great drive straight down the middle of the fairway.  Good ball contact that just missed the green. A nice chip shot and a six foot putt for par!

Saw my first laternfly nymph in my yard.  Hopefully one of the many predators in my yard will eat him.
It was undoubtedly looking for the Tree of Heaven saplings that I've been pulling out of my yard.  They come right up if you catch them when they are only a foot or two tall.

I met a new retiree from NYC at the potluck last weekend.  She was over at my house today with her husband to dig up roses I wanted to give away.  It took about two hours for them to fill their SUV roses. I give away good garden roses and keep the fussy Prima Donnas with their gorgeous blooms.

It was great to have a man around to dig up the roses for us!  I did a tally from memory and they filled their SUV with 17 rose bushes.

They gave me fresh strawberries and squash.  I've never cooked squash before so I'll have to figure that out.
