  Chrissy, I will miss what I have built here in NJ and my friends. But then I remind myself I would have to work another 10 years before I could retire and this place has a lot of emotional baggage attached that I would prefer to leave behind. Makes moving that much easier.
  Davina, if it was that simple I would hire a trailer. I have a 22' trailer that can haul a lot but farm equipment is bulky and takes up a lot of space. Most trips will be with one or two pieces. Good part is I can load the pickup with other stuff like shop equipment or households.
   In other new I welled up a few happy tears yesterday. Much seams to be working out right now. Those who follow me, remember back in march or april, I had ordered a starter for my backhoe that got lost in the mail. Well it showed up. No explanation. The company had sent another one, so unless I hear differently I now have a spare.

Dear Gina:
First, I want to say that I am so happy that your surgeries and your wife's eye surgery
were successful...  less to deal with now as your move is underway.

I had mixed feelings and excitement when I relocated so far away to here in Alaska... definitely
a new experience not only because of my relocation and new home and property but also this is
where I came out as Full Time to my small town and started my business here.

I have been enjoying following your retirement, your transition journey and now your
relocation journey.
Congratulations on getting your home sold quickly for the right price and now you have
the journey to your new abode in WV ahead of you.

When is your move-in date in WV? ... and is there a barn and/or a shed
for Dundee your horse?  It is good that there is an abundance of acreage for trail riding.
Horses generally do well when relocating... food, shelter, and loving care from their owner
is usually all that is needed.  Of course your trail rides will be a new experience for you
and for Dundee.

A quick update between runs to WV. The buyer of my house wants everything up to code, which is understandable. Problem is I built 2 buildings without permits. Now I am jumping through hoops to get them legal. I was able to get zoning to approve. Now working through the construction permits. They want detailed drawings, framing, roof pitch, electric plans, etc. I spent all day measuring and drawing yesterday. I hope it meets their requirements. Off to drop them off today.
   The buyers home inspection is today. I'm not worried but one more thing to go through.
   Only one more month till I'm down in WV full time. I still can't believe how different people are there. Everyone still waves as you drive by. Traffic is more polite. I am so looking forward to leaving the hustle and bustle of NJ behind. I did a little crazy move, I purchased a round baler for the new property. I won't need it till next spring but I found a good deal and took it.

   I have been feeling a little stressed of late. Much to do, considering the move and all. Just completed trip #7. Four or 5 to go. It takes about 3 days per trip (1 to load & 2 to drive) and only 22 days to go till closing. Add in a small punch list of things that need to be fixed before closing and I'm not sure I will make it. 
   I managed to take a short walk in WV on my new property. Such a peaceful place. Had to remind myself that the prize was worth it!

Moving can be quite stressful, but knowing how peaceful your new home will be is an excellent incentive. You may want to consider renting space in a storage facility near your old property. You could temporarily move some things there to speed up the 'clearing out' process. Then you could move the items from storage over to your new place at a slower pace. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Leaving on trip #9 today. I'm exhausted from all the moving. Closing on the house sale is now only 9 days away. Rented a uhaul for Sunday. Hopeful many of my friends show up to help.
   Went out for diner with my son last night. Played the trivia at the restaurant and we won. Had lots of fun. Felt good to wear a dress and go out.
   Finally got all the inspections done and cleared for the sale. Looks like I am going to have to come back for my backhoe after the closing. I can park it a neighbors and pick it up when ever.

My brother and I are wealthy.  We realized that instead of going through the exhausting process of selling a house, we could just donate it to our alma mater to set up scholarship fund in the name of our father. Many rich people can't do that.

No such luck here. I need the money to pay off the mortgage and for retirement.

Is your new place about the same size for storing everything you want as the place you sold?
Did you sell everything big that you really did not wish to take with you?

New house is very similar in size. Shop area probably a little smaller and divided up between several buildings. I did sell a lot of stuff but it doesn't seam like enough at this point. (Not really). List of things I've sold. 5 hay wagons, grain planter, hay baler, wake board boat, sail boat, old pickup, brush hog, hay elevator, piles of lumber, snow mobile, and multiple smaller items. Ok, so I'm a bit of pack rat! New place, I want to set up a metal shop in one building so I kept most of my tools for that, welders, torch, etc. In another building I plan to set up a wood shop so I kept all my wood working tools, saws, clamps etc. Then we have the stuff for the horses and all the farm equipment, tractors and the like.
   U-haul is tomorrow, all the house furniture and the like. Rented 2 men in WV to help unload. U-haul also rents men, who knew. Rented a motel room for a few nights for my wife, while I drive the furniture down and then come back for the horses.
   Went to the scrap yard with 2.5 tons of metal that was left behind from the sale of my business. Today it's off to the dump with a trailer load of other crap.
   In other news, I am coming up on my 3 year anniversary on HRT. I took a moment to look at my before pictures and can't believe the changes. So much has changed, face looks different, thighs are much bigger as well as some gain in my hips. Lost weight on my upper stomach, just under my ribs, and the muscle loss of course. Like a dream except for the age thing, Why did I wait so long to start living...

I am glad things are working out for you, move wise and with HRT and its changes.

around your property so now they are familiar with it.
