Can't believe yesterday was my 5th anniversary of starting HRT. I had looked forward to the anniversary, but did not realize it had come and gone until this morning.

My progression has been slower than most due to restrictions by my gender doctor.  But after 5 years, I have seen good progress physically and mentally. The mental progress has improved significantly thanks to weekly video visits with my therapists.

Everyone, have a great day!

My Life is Based on a True Story

Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything.
Maybe it's about un-becoming everything that isn't really you,
so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.

Happy Anniversary, Coral! As memorable as that first day is, it will slowly fade into the background as time passes. That doesn't make the day any less important, it merely means that it has become woven into the tapestry of your life. I wish you continued success and happiness.

Hi Everyone

Its nice too know that one can celebrate your HRT.  I never did and I do not, although my memory of that first time outside the pharmacy is permanently imprinted on my brain cells.

Unfortunately, I do not have a precise day that I took my first two HRT tablets.  However I know it was early Mar 1989 and I took two tablets, two in the morning and two in the evening every day and I was given an intramuscular injection on the backside every two weeks, which was going to be my regime for at least the next two years.

I have been taking hormones for the last 35 years.  The only effects that I really noticed, where softer skin, making me look younger.  There are other possible minor effects and one of those was maybe the hormones removed that wanting and longing to be a female.  I was working and living as a female, so maybe that's the reason why.  It does not matter.

So taking HRT is just a part of my daily routine and it's necessary for me to do so.

Love and Hugs

Gosh I really do not know when I started, at least for the herbals.
I know when I was in college I would wear dresses on campus some days but not in classes.
But that was before me starting the herbals.  I did eat a lot of phytoestrogenic foods like licorice and tofu; but, only because I liked to eat that.

If I started on a managed medical MTF HRT program back then, who knows, I might be a lovely looking woman nowadays.

I ate the foods I liked not so much from its estrogenic properties though I did try others because of their similar properties.

Herbals I tried for their estrogenic properties.  They worked some.

However neither made me realize I was transgender.  That came beforehand.

I did decide on medically supervised MTF HRT as the way to go for proper management and development towards what my body should have been all along.

I will pass the five year mark on medically supervised MTF HRT this year.
Herbals before then.
