When I say "cash", I don't mean several thousand dollars in greenbacks. I can use my debit card. Each store has its own policies, as you stated. If they won't make a deal, they lose a sale. Nothing stops me from saying "No, thanks" and walking out of the store.

Sometimes the same item can be at different prices at different stores.

Some manufacturers have what may be unfair sales contracts with vendors that fix minimum retail prices.  How they get away with that is crazy.  Furniture stores though can be competitive, and in these cases they may offer price reducers of sorts such as free delivery or extra warranties.

Hope you find what you want!

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Dear Lori:
                              WELCOME HOME
I hope that you are enjoying getting your new home set up the way that you wish.

I enjoyed reading your recap of activities the last few days in your new town and new home.
Now you have the fun of unpacking everything and figuring out where you want to put things.
Your new home is like a blank sheet of paper, so you have creative freedom.

To follow up on your comments regarding "cash" discounts:

CASH  is not the same as using a DEBIT CARD

The retail businesses that process Credit Cards and Debit Cards involve
various Merchant Services companies that process the card payments for a
variety of fees...and "almost without exception" the processing fee for
a Debit Card transaction is the very same rate/fee as for a Credit Card transaction.

Yes indeed, asking for a CASH discount will sometimes yield a discounted price
                    HOWEVER
if you are dealing with a non-management clerk or sales person, unless they
have knowledge of a company policy that allows for them to offer a discount
          of any kind
, it is not going to happen.
You can ask to talk to a manager or owner that might be able to offer a discount for
a purchase.  Obviously the more higher price items that you wish to purchase
all at the same time can influence your success in getting a discount.

I will eagerly be looking for more of your postings regarding your relocation.

HUGS, Danielle [Northern Star Girl]

It is happening slowly. After making several trips here, I am learning the various cross streets and landmarks. I have a good idea where things are, but I still rely on Google for some directions.

I found that the Walmart closest to me is just a grocery store. Food items only. And no plastic bags! They were outlawed in Colorado in 2023, so everyone uses paper bags that cost 10 cents each or reusable fabric bags. The law calls the bags "single-use plastic bags". Single-use? I use them for trash can liners for the small waste bins in my bathrooms and bedroom.

For the most part, I am settling in nicely, thanks.  :)

@Lori Dee
Dear Lori:
In short order, you will be buzzing around town in your Jeep without having to rely on
a map or Google navigation.  You will have a great time learning about the restaurants
and smaller retail stores that will be fun for you to discover.

In the past I have relocated several times and each time is as memorable experience.
I am certain that you will enjoy your new Colorado life and the new surroundings.
