Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia said on Tuesday that a recent decision by Britain's socialized health system on "gender-affirming care" for children should rally support for her bill to do something similar here in the U.S.

"I wish Congress was bold enough to move forward with my Protect Children's Innocence Act to ban puberty blockers and end child genital mutilation surgeries," the Georgia Republican posted on X.

Greene was reacting to news that England's government-sponsored National Health Service opted to ban puberty blockers for children.

Greene's bill, which she introduced last year and which has a similar version backed by Ohio Republican Sen. J.D. Vance, would ban "any" alleged gender-affirming care for minors.

It would also block taxpayers' dollars from being spent on such care or on health insurance plans that cover it, among other provisions.

It's a race to the bottom, what is not mentioned there is the support the NHS will give is talking therapies ie conversion therapies to bash the trans out of the kids

We should pass a law that prohibits any member of Congress from writing a bill on a subject they know nothing about.

The term "minor" is intentionally used to make people think of young children, when in fact it refers to anyone under the age of 18, 19, or even 21 in some areas. Gender Affirming surgery on young children is extremely rare because most children have no concept of biological sex, not to mention gender identity. Even the use of puberty blockers for adolescents is extremely rare.

These laws are mostly for posturing during an election year and are solely intended to inflame hatred against our community. Any member of Congress who does not represent every single member of their state (which is their job), should be impeached for breach of contract, discrimination, and maybe even hate crime.
