Central Arkansas Pride is hosting a rally, protesting changes to the gender policy for state I.D.s

The rally takes place... from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the steps of the state capitol.

Two weeks ago, the Department of Finance and Administration announced it was eliminating the option for Arkansans to change their gender neutral "X" on their ID's.

Instead, requiring I.D.s to reflect the gender documented on an individual's birth certificate.

The organization says they vigorously oppose the change. "Transgender Arkansans could be subjected to unwarranted questions about their gender as their state-issued identification will not reflect their authentic self-requiring them to continually out and explain themself."
