Former USWNT star Megan Rapinoe has made her stance on transgender athletes competing in women's sports abundantly clear.

Rapinoe has signed a letter that is directed for NCAA president Charlie Baker and the Board of Governors. The letter was created by Athlete Ally, which advocated for inclusion in all sports.

The letter that Rapinoe signed demands the NCAA to take action and protect transgender athletes. It's also signed by basketball legend Sue Bird, WNBA player Layshia Clarendon and several other prominent names.

"To deny transgender athletes the fundamental right to be who they are, to access the sport they love, and to receive the proven mental and physical health benefits of sport goes against the very principles of the NCAA's Constitution," the letter says. "We call on you to be on the right side of history and affirm that sport is truly for us all.

"Do not ban transgender women from NCAA women's sports."

"It's particularly frustrating when women's sports is weaponized. Oh, now we care about fairness? Now we care about women's sports? That's total [expletive]. And show me all the trans people who are nefariously taking advantage of being trans in sports. It's just not happening," Rapinoe said, via CNN.
