Story by Tom Boggioni (20 June 2024)

According to a report from Popular Information, an examination of political donations given to conservative lawmakers and affiliated PACs features "some of the most prominent corporations in the United States."

In their report, at the top of the list is accounting giant Deloitte, which earlier this month was a prominent supporter of the pride parade in Washington, D.C. noting that the corporation also maintains an X social media account @DeloitteProud, and proclaims on its corporate website: "We are dedicated to elevating the voices, perspectives, and stories of those within our Pride community. Our social campaign #PrideIsEternal is part of our promise to elevate and celebrate the diversity of our 2SLGBTQIA+ colleagues. When our people speak, we seek to listen, embedding respect in everything we do."

However, as Popular Info is reporting, "since November 8, 2022, Deloitte has donated at least $679,000 to vehemently anti-LGBTQ federal and state politicians," including "$365,500 donated by Deloitte's corporate PAC to the campaigns and leadership PACs of 51 members of Congress that received a zero rating on the latest Congressional scorecard produced by HRC."

Deloitte is not alone in presenting one face to the public while also helping derail pro-LGBTQ legislation.
