My Soon to be Exwife Hates me

Hi all just thought would I raise this issue to see you have encountered it before.

Now I know that telling your wife that you are a woman is not going to be greeted by "hey honey thats great", there is understandable hurt and pain on both side, its nobodys fault.

My wife and I have lived largely seperate lives for over 10 years now, she likes the lifestyle my income can provide, as she has never had to work, so tennis,shopping and doing lunch are staples of her week.

She does not talk to me now, unless to yell at me and refer to me in the third person as that bitch.

I received a letter from her mother today not that I was expecting wishes you well dear, but the tone of this letter the insults implied threats has left me in a spin.

Have you any thoughts on this

how old is your wife?  from what I remember you saying, not that old that she cannot go off and start a new life for herself, and that there are no children to make things difficult for her.

I gather that you have never been slow or stingy with alimony, in fact she has been living well for the last 10 years.

As far as your ex mother in law, whyever would she be writing to insult & threaten you?

Just walk away from them & put them out of your thoughts, your marriage was a sad & costly experience - one of those things that can happen to anybody.  It only hurts you and pleases them for you to get hurt & upset.

You have lots going for you & good stuff to look forward to - concentrate on that

If the threats were of bodily harm, that's a criminal offence. If they were of a financial nature, like "we'll take everything you own", you might want to consult a lawyer.

Keep the letter. You may need to use it in future.
