Do you like to eat mushrooms?  Which kind?

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Hi Chrissy Ryan,

I have found no kind of mushroom that I enjoy eating.  I'm sure my dislike for mushrooms started when I was a child when just the idea of eating fungi did not appeal to me.  They were tight up there with liver, oysters and okra (I don't really care for slimy food either.)  Later in life, when I started expanding my culinary horizons, and challenging my my preconceived notions about what I like and don't like, I found I still do not like the taste of mushrooms.

This was a fun post.

Thank you.

Only on pizza. With Canadian Bacon, black olives, and extra extra extra cheese.
Sometimes mushrooms are okay in spaghetti sauce. Otherwise, I avoid them.

Factoid:

Button mushrooms are the most immature form of the edible fungus Agaricus bisporus.  Button mushrooms grow to be cremini mushrooms and later, portobello mushrooms.  These mushrooms are the same mushroom at different stages of growth.

That is probably more than what most people wanted to know about these mushrooms.

yeah, the small ones are always much more tender and tasty.. and they don't run away as quickly!

sorry - serious factoid - mushrooms are grown in sterile compost - that is there is no bacteria in the soil that comes inside the package, therefore, you don't (and shouldnt) wash mushrooms - they will absorb moisture and it changes the texture and makes them cook less favourably.. instead just brush them with a dry paper towel and prepare them..

Un-cooked mushrooms on salads and on pizza.  I don't much care for cooked mushrooms.  Of course the mushrooms on the pizza would get cooked as the pizza was baked, but they need to start off raw.

Yum!  I like mushrooms.  Both raw and cooked, but I prefer cooked.

I was going to post that I can't tell the difference between the different types of mushrooms - they all taste the same to me - and then I saw this:

That would explain it.  So there is nothing wrong with my taste buds!   :D

They're OK, never been a massive fan of them but never hated them either. I like the brown chestnut button mushrooms the best.Had a really bad trip on magic mushrooms in the 70s then somehow managed to pass the attitude test with my parents!

Raw in salads.  Cooked is best.  Stroganoff.

Yes, I LOVE mushrooms. They're like the meat that isn't meat. I am not fussy on what kind. Fried gently in butter, they are so yummy. I also love them in soups. They add a lot of body to a soup. Genuine mushrooms, though. Not the Heinz junk they try to sell people. Add your own. With homemade croutons... so so so nice.

Mushrooms are where you go to kiss.

No, perhaps not.

But mushrooms can be very tasty.

Lol I think they probably are if you're big into Shakespeare and "A Midsummer Night's Dream". You might find Queen Titania or King Oberon. ;D
