As a MTF, do you enjoy a feminine look or a more androgynous one?

I am very early on in my transition. Have not come out to many people. I'm not even on HRT yet. I unfortunately dress masculine. I have a few feminine articles of clothing. I can get away with under dressing more than I can outer wear. I have 1 or two female tank tops, and 1 or 2 female cargo shorts that can probably be taken either way. Not too far off from my tanks and shorts that are designed for men, so they don't look out of place when I where them.

I can't wait for the day that I can wear things that show more skin like reg jean shorts and not mom shorts etc, or a dress that shows off curves, or even female active wear such as leggings/yoga pants, sport bras or tank tops that have bra built in. And the colors I'm choosing are still in the realm of normal, I don't have any outer wear where the colors are more pastel or fem.

One day though I'll be feminine 100% of the time ( the day can't come soon enough) but even then I think I'd be more on the side of comfort than fashionable or something over the top feminine.

It is nice to be dressed appropriately for sure.

As your body changes shape, even ever so slightly, it is nice to wear clothing that perhaps accentuates those nice changes.

Wish I was back in graduate school or even after high school and started my HRT back then.
Those lost years could have made a difference for my transition body changes, but who knows, maybe not. I was a cross dresser back then, not realizing I was transgender.  I guess it takes time for some of us to obtain clarity of who we are.  It is better later than never to try to correct the situation though.

My guy clothing never fit! It was a hassle to find clothes to wear.

 Now clothes shopping is too easy!

From what I've heard dieting may be easier when you aren't on HRT yet.
Learning what works for you in terms of diet and exercise can go a long way towards a feminine presentation.

Without any doubt, I prefer and enjoy my feminine appearance.
 
At the beginning of my transition journey before I came out I obviously had times that
I felt that I had to appear male, then gradually and eventually androgynous for a time.

It was a lot of work, expense and personal dedication to come to the finish line and
finally become full-time Danielle...
....there is no going back, appearing as my female self is what I do every minute of
each and every day no matter where I am and where I go.

In my humble opinion...as an MTF appearing as a woman, I believe it is very important to
try to fit in with other women... noting what they are wearing and how they appear in whatever
setting that I find myself in. 
Because transgender women can be cruelly scrutinized by some others, I usually do not wear
flashy skin bearing clothing when around town or at my business.  I always wish to give the
appearance of being conservatively dressed as a respectable woman.  Obviously if at the beach, the
swimming pool, out hiking in the summer with accepting friends I can wear what I feel
appropriate and comfortable.

Exactly this. Blending in leads to acceptance, which is both affirming and safer. We already are being targeted, no need to help them find us.

If I was offline for a couple of weeks or so, no one at all would wonder where I was at or miss me at all.   However not so for you. 

You are an integral part of this Forum for many of us here. You are special.  You are wonderful.  I hope you are always around here, except for vacations and responsibilities away, of course.

Hi Everyone

Ever since Sarah changed her life around, including the two Christmas before.  I have always dressed appropriately for my age, was comfortable, as the situation demanded and of course what I liked wearing.  As for androgynous appearance, I would not really not know what that means and it's only through Susan's that I have really become aware of it.

Yes, I prefer feminine clothing over androgynous and the way other women in the country town, tend to not care about what they wear.  Which in a sense makes me stand out.  However, when at home I dress crappy and the same goes when I go around to my brothers or a quick visit to the shops.

I don't wear mens clothing, why would I?  Except for maybe socks, because it was hard to find a pair of socks in a womens size that would fit me (however I noticed just recently that they have the larger sizes for women, finally) and that includes runners or joggers.

Yes, I prefer the feminine look, although through all the years, I have never worried about that aspect of my life.  What I did was feminine, without me realizing it.

You are incorrect .... the last time that you went "silent" for a week or so in early June we
had exchanged a couple of Forum messages regarding your unannounced vacation... and at that
time I certainty did miss your presence here on the Forum and was concerned for your well being.

As with many regular members here I will indeed notice if they are away for more than 
several days. You are not the only member that I have worried about and communicated with
regarding their unannounced silence on the Forum.

There are others here that are more helpful than my insignificant posts.  Staff should follow up on all regulars of course.
For mainstream members, many others, such as O&C and Jess, many more, and staff, would be more missed than I.
This is simply the facts.
