What are your favorite foreign foods?

That is food not typical for your culture, or even something you rarely eat, but you like to do so, because it is hard to find where you live.

The Colombian version of Buñuelos. My soulmate is Colombian and she introduced me to these. Never, ever heard of them before but I adore learning new things from different cultures. As a Brit, we have very traditional, bland foods. Since meeting her, I have upped my spice tolerance significantly, lol. That and I maintain Colombian coffee is the best in the world. :P If you haven't tried it yet, go get some. Not even kidding.

This alone is why we are stronger learning from each other. Forget all the other stuff. :P <3

While stationed in Germany, my then-mother-in-law knew I loved Devil's Food cake. For my birthday one year, she made a Schwarzwald Kirsch torte (Black Forest Cherry Cake).

I was hooked forever.

LOL omg, that is one of the few desserts I can actually eat, because it's not overly sweet. The cherries are somewhat bitter. If the cake is not overly sweet, I adore that!

Germans are not big on sweets. She also knew that I was a chocoholic, and gave me some German Chocolate. Ugh. Marzipan. That stuff is evil. Maybe ok to cook with, but... no, just no.

Chocolate in general makes me nauseous. I am the literal anti-woman, lol. I am not tolerant to refined sugars. They make my digestive system do somersaults.

One of my ex's though, the one who kind of bullied me into coming here... she got me some 75% cacao dark chocolate. Thinking I might go to the dark side. It was like... eating charcoal. I don't get how you girls are addicted to this stuff. I don't think I have the Cadbury gene in my brain, lol. ;D

I'm not a fan of dark chocolate either except as survival food (it doesn't melt as easily). For me, it is milk chocolate, chocolate milk, or hot cocoa. I don't get it very often, so when I do it is a real treat.

I watch a lot of US reaction channels. And they go mental over Galaxy hot chocolate.

You folks seem to have a different name for this brand but if you can get this... maybe give it a go?

I want some strudel or cheesecake with blueberries.

Or maybe all of that.

I like to buy some of these little frozen cheesecake squares.  That way I just eat a little of it at a time.
