Swimsuits have been challenging for me to try.  I think it is because I do not have all the curves I would enjoy having.  I have some boobs but not so much the curves.

How did you get over any fear of trying swimsuits, and actually wearing one in public?

Or have you basically shelved the idea of wearing a female swimsuit, if you are a MTF?

I think I will never wear a bikini.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I don't perceive swimsuits as a big problem. Inverted triangle figure is a thing among cis women too, so don't be ashamed of you body for not having sufficient curves.

My key criteria for swimsuits are: (1) long enough to fit my 6'6" frame and (2) be supportive to maintain a tuck without using an Unclockable tape. I realized that tummy control swimsuits do help with maintaining a tuck. I do use both, one piece suits as well as bikinis, the latter ones are usually with a high rise brief bottom. I also look out that the bust part is a full coverage one, so my breast forms are not visible.

I've been wearing crop tops that show plenty of skin.

It took a lot of work but I have an hourglass figure with a thin waistline!  It is thinner than I thought possible without surgery!

I would love to wear a swimsuit, but can't. The top is ok but not the bottom. I can't tuck due to shrinkage (thanks, estradiol). I do get by with compression underwear, but I don't think I have the confidence to wear a swimsuit in public yet. I just started wearing shorts this year.

Baby steps. I'll get there one day, but most likely will be post-op.

I have thought about getting a swimsuit.  My figure has improved to the point where I have some almost-curves that are at least plausible.  And I no longer have to worry about tucking.  But we don't (and won't) have our own pool, I can't see going to a public pool, and the only beaches around here are either rocky, or are on the Atlantic side of the province with cold water.  So, while I think I might look okay in the right swimsuit, I am not motivated to get one.

I didn't buy one tell I moved to the place we own now. I just wasn't interested in getting one. It definitely makes me feel more vulnerable in one, but beyond that it hasn't been an issue. Hugs

Not many women wear bikinis here, but I like wearing a bikini on the beach, sometimes topless. Beaches are public places but can be surprisingly private spaces. Even I can change the bikini bottoms and bras under the water. (BTW, I have not been on HRT or any other medical treatment).

This afternoon, I caught a heavy rain shower at the beach. Yes. I thought about tucking.

When I want to work on my tan, I have a bikini that I'll wear in my back yard (if you can call what I have a yard).  But nothing that I'm going to wear in public.

Swimming is reduced to a pair of short shorts and a tank top, now that I have enough up top to be noticed.  Someday I hope to wear a more feminine top, not sure that's ever going to happen. :(

I've never really worn shorts longer than mid thigh.  Comes from growing up in the 70's when shorts were short, and also from being on the high school swim team where Speedo's were the norm. :o

In the last 10 years or so all of my shorts have been a 2-4 inch inseam.  Some from the woman's department and most from the junior's department. ( I have nice legs, from being on the high school water polo team. ;)  )

Yesterday I strolled along the beach in a bikini and highheel sandals with plumeria. I did not care about tucking. Disappointedly people did not pay attention to me so much.
