LOL. I don't know why but that made me laugh.

I'm so glad the procedure went well.  I'm so disappointed that you waited months for the procedure and now you have to wait months to see the final results.

Thank you so much for the update.

How long is the recovery and healing expected to take for this procedure Kelly?

Are you feeling pretty good, any residual discomfort?

Hi Everyone!

How am I doing? I'm healing. And I'll tell ya healing from this surgery has been tough. Liposuction is a tough thing to get over. Well at least it has been in my case. Every body is different, and my body has never liked giving up things. So when the dr told me that she had a tough time finding any fat on me, and when she found it she had a very difficult time in getting it out. And so I am still in large amounts of pain, ugh!

It is 20 days out from my surgery today, and every location that she did liposuction on is still tender to the touch. The muscles underneath all those areas are also very tense and crampy. I am trying to do lots of physical therapy in my recovery. It is relatively simple, a few different arms lifts and stretches mainly, and I am also doing lots of massage to the liposuctioned areas which apparently helps to smooth the skin. Both of those things super hurt though.

So overall, at this point, I am not a fan of liposuction, even though I love the effects. I had fat removed from the backs of my arms, from my back wear the bra fat tends to bulge a bit for some people, my lower back, which I didn't even know had any fat, and then she contoured my abdomen area, which included the sides of my torso, my upper stomach, and around the sides of my lower abdomen, which gave me a cute little feminine lower abdomen pooch.

It interesting as my dr mentioned to me prior to the surgery that it was really much more of a liposuction surgery than breast enhancement. Notice I haven't even mentioned that yet? So yeah the liposuction was a large part of this surgery.

Okay, so the breast enhancement process.... When I first saw my boobs on the day after the surgery, they were huge. The surgery had caused lots of swelling. I was well informed that this would happen, but it was still pretty shocking.  Which was a good thing as I was very aware right then that they were too big for my liking. I was kind of hoping that would happen, as opposed to the opposite, me falling in love with having huge boobs. So, I was happy that I didn't like them that large.

Since that time the swelling has reduced and I am much happier. However, we are still in a wait and see time period. My breasts will not reach their final size until about 3 to 6 months after the surgery. What is most likely going to happen is that they are going to get a bit smaller as my body slowly absorbs some of the transferred fat. My dr said that most patients retain at least 80% of the transferred fat, but some retain much more.

Wow, sorry for writing so much. I didn't anticipate that when I sat down this morning. Hmmm.....

The TLDR version, liposuction is very hard to recover from, my swelling is mostly gone, and I am enjoying the current size of my breasts.

I hope everyone out there has had a lovely holiday time and New Years. My best to you all.

Lori Dee

Thanks for the update, Kelly.

Never feel bad about giving too much information (as long as you are comfortable doing so). When we are considering what procedures we might want to get, it is so much better to have details from someone who has actually done it, vs the generic medical brochure version.

Hopefully, you will heal up soon.

Kelly,

Thank you for your update.  I have heard that liposuction cannot not only be tough on the body, it can be dangerous.  I am wishing for you less discomfort and that everything turns out well, from your muscles, residual fat being maintained for your desired boob size, body reductions where you wanted them, and you like the final result to the extent you think all of this was worthwhile.

Happy new year.

Chrissy

Kelly,
Sounds like a win, win procedure. Less fat where you don't want it and bigger boobs. I was wondering is this procedure expensive and does insurance cover some of it? Sorry for the pain and discomfort. I hope that is going away. Speedy recovery.

Nadine Spirit

Thanks Gina.

as to your question...
Quote from: Gina P on January 02, 2025, 06:43:02 AMI was wondering is this procedure expensive and does insurance cover some of it?

I paid 30k cash. Well actually I first put it all on a CC to get points, and then paid it off, lol. Yes I am fortunate to be able to so. I probably could have gotten it paid for by insurance if I would have gone to a different doctor, but I wanted to work with the doctor I chose.

The doctor I went to is kind of a specialist in fat transfer and breast health. She has large restrictions on her breast enhancement fat transfers. Like she will only transfer up to 200cc of material into each breast. And she will only double your current size, if your size is under 200cc. Which is about a 36a cup or so. Other physicians may offer larger volume transfers, but in my surgeons experience that increases the number and severity of potential complications and fat loss.

The thing about my surgeon and her process is that she can offer a relatively very high level of fat retention. Typically 80-100% retention which is very high. So I paid a premium and so far I am thrilled with the results, especially the symmetry and the aesthetics. Really it is unnoticeable that I had anything done to my breast except for a bit of residual bruising still.

Thanks for the info, Kelly. Sounds incredible. A nice alternative to implants. You will be looking supper for swim season.

ChrissyRyan

I am not ready to spend that much on fat transfer but maybe that is comparable to BA surgery costs nowadays?

I see body contouring ads for an apparent national chain of facilities; but, I bet those are pricey.  I think they involve liposuction.

I am glad that your procedure seems to be working out nicely for you Kelly.

Hmmm..... 10 days since my last update..... So how're things going as of today???

It has now been 30 days since my surgery BTW. Swelling and bruising is almost totally gone, but almost everything still hurts. It's not crazy pounding pain, it is an overall tenderness. I thought I would go back to work at the beginning of this week and I lasted 2 days before I realized that I made a mistake. I contacted my surgeon and asked for 2 more weeks of time off so I've been off for this week and next.

My breasts are looking fabulous, but they also are still quite sore.

Overall I love the results of all of this body work, but it has been vastly more painful than I thought.

Gina P

Thanks for the update. I'm sure it takes time for the nerves to get back to normal after all that your body has been through. I hope life gets back to normal except for the occasional downward looks from men. "Hey I'm up here!" :icon_inyourface:

Kelly,

Are you feeling better everywhere now?

Thanks Chrissy!

I was pondering updating this thread the other day, why, because I am out of pain? Um, no! I am still in quite a bit of discomfort actually. It has now been 60 days and things still hurt.....

The least painful areas would be my breasts. They are just a bit tender. However they look lovely! I am super enjoying the results of this surgery. I love that they look totally natural. They have a very lovely bounce to them but they are not so big as to be a nuisance.

The spots that are the most painful are pretty much every lipo site. Which would be the backs of my arms, around my armpits towards my back, around my lower abdomen, and my lower back. Things don't hurt on the daily so much, but I am becoming much more active and that is causing some further discomfort. So I did a bunch of yard work this past Saturday where I was down on my hands and knees weeding for a bit, cutting down a small oak tree with a hand saw, and using a backpack sprayer that holds about 4 gallons to do four trips around my yard killing weeds. So it was an active day, and oh boy did I feel that for the rest of the day Saturday, all day Sunday, and still today! Ugh!

My dr told me this would be the case but that the more physical I am, the more things will work out over time. It feels like that is going to be the case, but it is going to take a lot of time.

Um..... rant approaching.....

(I think the thing that is hard about pain is trying to describe it to others. Like I had an actual problem when I had my orchiectomy done, but the only way to describe it was to say it was painful. But then everybody just looked at me like I was crazy and insultingly told me things like, well of course this procedure was going to hurt. Well, duh! But the pain I felt was abnormal. Nobody but my next surgeon actually believed me. When he did my full GCS, he found a balled up tangle of nerves surrounding something. But hey yeah, it's cool that for two to three years I was just blown off about being a wimp about pain. Okay so this mini rant to say, I feel things, and I feel them deeply, and I always have. I can blow them off and go about my life, and do crazy things like all of the yard work, but if someone asks if something hurts or not, I'm not going to suck it up and lie and tell you it doesn't hurt when it does. People have contacted me multiple times over the years to tell me that such and such procedure that I described as painful, wasn't actually as bad as I described it, well then good! I'm happy some have experienced less pain than me, but I don't sugar coat my life anymore to please anyone.)

Thank you for your update Kelly.

I understand what you are describing about pain, and that others say that they did not have as much pain from their procedures.  Everyone is different, their bodies differ.

I got a big smile when you said that your breasts not only look lovely, they have a very lovely bounce.  That sounds lovely and wonderful.

Do keep us posted, girl time sure flies by, it is already sixty days since your procedure.

Have a wonderful week!

Chrissy

Hiya! It is now 94 days out from my surgery, so I thought I'd give a little update.

My breasts are looking lovely. They have not lost any more of the transferred fat since the last time I updated. I love their appearance and am very pleased to have gotten exactly what my surgeon said she would be able to do for me. Overall they were increased by about a full cup size. My wife says that they finally look like mature breasts. They have a bit more projection than before, but they also have much more width as well. It makes them look much more full. Anywho, I'm very happy with them.

My liposuction sites are also looking much more lovely as the swelling is continuing to decrease. I didn't really notice much swelling really, however I was looking at my body the other day in the mirror and I noticed it. Part of where she removed fat was from the sides of my torso. This made it so that I now have a narrower waist then before and it is lowered. And it looks fabu! In a dress and out, so that's lovely.

I am still in pain though. Out of my surgeries this would be the most painful, well except for the botched orchiectomy. My breasts are still sore also. It is getting better, but I am really quite shocked by how physical this surgery was.

Okay, thanks for reading!
