Any other armchair detectives on here?

I've had an interest in true crime since early 1968, a few weeks after my 10th birthday when I started reading about Bible John the Scottish  serial killer in my Grandmother's Sunday Post. Not really suitable for a 10 year old but my parents were quite proggressive.
I'm on a few true crime groups & live near Blackpool with 6 unsolved murders going back to 1947.Sounds macabre but I often retrace last sightings of the missing & unsolved murder victims. I feel it lets them know they haven't been forgotten.
A few years ago I took several photos & sketched (badly) plant growth in a possible deposition site (spoiler it wasn't, the case remains unsolved since 2003) in a local missing persons case for a wannabe author before we had a massive bust up & I've since blocked her.

Not so much a crime detective but I do enjoy solving puzzles. My interest is more in stories of lost treasures.

I have two that I have investigated thoroughly and have a good idea of where to look. One is in Colorado and not a very accessible area. It will take careful climbing up a steep canyon to get where I think the "hide-out" was.

The other story is local here in South Dakota. I know the area well, as it is not far from where I do my gold mining. The area I need to cover is quite large and no way to narrow it down. So when I can, I get out and swing my metal detector and hope to find a clue.

I used to visit an abandoned asylum in Illinois. It was a tuberculosis hospital for many years long ago. The adjoining cemetery has many graves of children, some with names, but many with just a file number. I would walk the cemetery for the same reason. Sometimes I would get so emotional from the feel of the place. It touches me still, just thinking about it.

No. Not even. My mother used to be massive into all this. Reading between the lines between the lines. She tried to get me into it more than once. But it all seemed like tin foil hattery to me. The kind of people who rejoice in "we didn't land on the moon" or "it was actually shapeshifting aliens who shot JFK"

I'm not saying there isn't some weirdness, but when people try to throw consipracy theories at me, I am like "No, the simplest explanation is usually the truth." I have yet to see an argument where it isn't.

My dad's brother was convinced that we never went to the moon. My dad worked at NASA then and was involved in the Apollo program. Once he showed him the evidence, he changed his mind. Now he is on to other things, maybe even a "Flat Earther". Who knows.

Lori don't even start me on this whole Flat Earth stuff. I've dug quite a bit into this. It's a literal cult. To hear these people talk is actually laughable. I am almost convinced they don't believe the nonsense they come out with. They just want to feel part of a community. People who make them feel accepted.

When I read 'Armchair Detectives', I immediately thought of the reclining chair at my dad's house. For some reason, that chair was a magnet for loose change and car keys!

You know once I thought lost my door key ls couldn't find them looked everywhere pockets bedroom still couldn't find them
