The VA continues to train healthcare providers on a variety of topics that are relevant to the LGBTQ+ Community.
Coming up on September 17, 2024 will be a training session for all healthcare providers with the VA and non-VA who may have veteran patients. Although this training is specific to healthcare providers the list of topics being discussed is important to us. Specifically showing how healthcare providers can properly conduct pre-op assessments and surgery recommendation letters for transgender veterans.
Then on September 20, the Minneapolis VA will host a virtual Mental Health Summit that is open to all. The focus is on providers who treat transgender veterans, but anyone can register to attend via video link.
