Does or has anyone used corsets or waist trainers to slowly change the shape of their waist to have a more hour glass figure?

I know that it can be dangerous if done to an extreme. I was just wondering if anyone has used this technique to have more of a feminine figure and how well it worked or didn't work for them, and what they used or are using, and if they have any recommendations based off their experiences.

I have tried them.  They do have a positive change as long as you keep wearing them.  If you stop, your body seems to revert back, unless of course you do something in the meantime such as lose weight or fat.

I would be careful using them, read all you can about the safe use of them.  The waist training can provide a nice look.  They do give you what I call fake curves.

I do not wear them now.  That was back when I cross dressed.  I am a MTF transsexual now, and wished I had more real curves, but it has been many years since I wore a heavily boned well made corset.

Cheaper corsets are probably like most others things, you get what you pay for.  But it may but just fine to use an inexpensive one first, then if you want to continue with waist training, to move up to a higher quality corset.  But as with anything, you can spend lots of money on them.

Some people wear them as outer clothing.  I never did.  Have fun exploring and learning!

I tried waist trainers and found them to be far too uncomfortable to wear as long as needed to make any changes.

I have two corsets, but they are costumes, not good quality. I have looked for a high-quality leather with steel bones, but have to find one. Most have either plastic bones or metal springs, which are not very effective. They can be fun to wear (see my recent pictures post), but too uncomfortable for me to wear for more than a few hours.

If you find one that is heavy leather and of good quality, I would be very interested.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I have not worn anything other than the spandex ones you wear while working out that are ment to make you sweat. And I wouldn't call those waist trainers in the sense that I'm talking about in this post.

I'm considering corsets down the road, after starting HRT, and dieting to see where my body finally naturally sits at body weight wise and figure. Since I'm starting at a really wide frame from bodybuilding that I may need something extra to help transform my waistline to give more curves and a smaller area just under the rib cage ,without having to get surgery.

About 20 years ago, I purchased a corset for curiosity but never wore it. Waist trainers/corsets can not be a long-term solution but can be helpful for some events.

I was glad that I could wear a tight minidress after diet.

Hi Robbyv,

A few years ago I hung out at a "gay" bar in Indianapolis and one of the gurls had taken the corset look to the extreme, an tiny waist providing a hourglass figure.  It was such an extreme that I suspect internal organs had slowly rearranged themselves.

So sometimes you try to understand why people do what they do.  (I'm easy, an aging "non-pasable" closet crossdresser originally for sexual thrill, but then developing into experiencing things through the female lense.)  So I've thought about the extreme corset gurl's "why". And I don't think she did it for her "audience", but but rather to satisfy some inner vision she had of herself.  But I never asked - possibly because I enjoyed being part of her audience.

So good luck with it.  I understand that custom made English leather corsets with spring iron "stays" fit wonderfully and are (somewhat) reasonably priced. And the "audiences" do appreciate the look.

@Carolina thanks for the suggestions. I don't want to get to that extreme using corsets. Just enough to help shape my already wide frame to give me a bit more of a figure than I would have had (without having any surgeries to achieve this figure.)

I feel every little bit helps. Hormones will do their thing, working out and training glutes and legs will helps, diet and nutrition, some muscle loss (if I'm lucky) and we will see where I'm at.

I know I'll never have that hour glass figure, since I am a man with a man's skeleton. Unless I have plastic surgery to have butt, thigh and hip implants I won't have that figure.

All I would be trying to attain is creating the illusion that I have it by focusing on the proportions that I can. Change without surgery for a more optimal proportional female look than I have already

Something I found that helps is A-line dresses. I have some that are a little short, like a minidress made of T-shirt material. I wear them as a top with a pair of jeans. They are fitted at the shoulders and waist, then flare to the hem so very loose around the hips. This accentuates the bust and waist and gives the illusion of wider hips.

You can also widen the hips by wearing a thick cloth belt low on the hips. If it is like a scarf, it doesn't lie flat, so adds a bit of bulk just below the navel.

Have fun experimenting.

I have some shirt dresses.  One is best described as an extra long polo shirt.

Wrapping a sweater around your hips and letting it hand down can make you appear with a wider hip to waist ratio.

Now I am feeling envious of those with hourglass figures, I want one and a "ten" body. Fooey.
I just got to get over this instananeous desire, as that is just not going to happen.

I have heard of a relatively new procedure called rib redefining or something like that. before they would remove a one of the lower ribs, now the updated procedure is that they micro fracture the lower ribs, have you were a corset for the following months while they heal in the new position, and now you have a smaller waist and still have all your ribs lol

I think Ill wait to see how many people have complications from this before I consider it lol

Sounds risky.  Not risky to wait, but to break any bone in whatever way or extent.

I have wore short torso ones daily for about four years. You want to get a good quality one with the ribs in it and with hook and eye closures. Mine is made by Atbuty and I got it on Amazon. It's tricky to get the right size and they can be uncomfortable until you get used to them. Over time I have been able to hook it smaller. I eat healthy which helps too.

I hear for most people the slimming effect for corsets are not long lasting unless one wears them almost all the time.
