I wish the doctor will find a solution for your eye problem. Nowadays laser surgery or replacing the eye lens with an artificial one is popular here. Some of my friends in their 50s underwent it, saying they regained their eyesight.

Okay, so, update. I have "something" behind my right eye. Something making my sinuses go haywire. Making me like Gizmo from the Gremlins movies. "Bright Light! Bright Light!!"

The hospital can't work out what it is. I currently look like a pirate, lol. I have an eyepatch. I didn't even know those were a real thing lol. They took more pictures of my head than an OnlyFans primadonna on a selfie binge.

One doctor thinks it's an allergic reaction to something, another doctor thinks it might be a brain tumor. Go NHS! I kind of feel like it's more the first than the second.

But anyway, just wanted to let you know. I don't deserve this. I feel better at the moment. Not okay, but better. You folks always... this is why the site is what it is. I have even more medication, because yay? And have to go for more probing tomorrow. I don't deserve the level of... sheer awesomeness this site always seems to encourage.

Thank you. <3

I'm glad you are getting it sorted. Hopefully, it will be something that can be easily treated with antibiotics. Embrace the eyepatch. I had to wear one for two weeks due to double vision. You picked the right time of year. Halloween is coming, so just learn to say "Arrrgh" a lot, and no one will notice. (Subtle attempt at humor). I know it sucks, but hang tough, sister!

Well, the good news is that the doctors agree something is wrong and it isn't just in your head, although it really is in your head. Hopefully the eyepatch is making things a little more bearable. Have faith they will get this sorted out, and try not to worry about it. Worrying won't change anything, it just reduces your ability to enjoy life.

You don't deserve this, and hopefully the doctors will be able to get it resolved soon.

I asked for antibiotics like 5 times from my GP, but they're terrified of prescribing them if you don't have a growth they can poke. They literally have leaflets in my local medical centre trying to scare people into avoiding them, so they don't get so-called "Superbugs" that get immune to them.

"Make Antibiotics Great Again! Suffer in silence!"

I mean I can kind of understand that but I have never taken them in my life before. It's one of the few things I've never had to deal with, lol.

Wish I could rock this, lol. Sadly not...

Thank you, Jess. Yeah it's definitely in my head... somewhere! Good thing I'm left-handed. ;D

First, hugs and all the encouragement I have to give. Second, it may take a few days to figure out, so its great you are being investigated. Once they've started, they'll have to finish!

Make sure you understand what they are telling you and if they use medical-ese ask them to translate. Communication is all here, especially once they've started start coning in on the diagnosis. At that point, getting them to write stuff down for you helps too because the amount of content can be overwhelming.

I love the bling! Mine was just a boring old cloth-covered piece of cardboard that I got at the pharmacy.

I know what you mean about antibiotics. In the Army, they gave me penicillin. I am not allergic and it works. That was over thirty years ago. Now if I need something, which is very rare, they give me Amoxicillin. I tell them to stop playing around with my health and give me the good stuff. I know it works, I am not allergic to anything. But no. Idiots don't use their heads. You can't have Superbugs develop immunity to something they never prescribe. They can't develop anything when they are dead. Kill the dang bug!

Thank you, Tanya. :) Yeah, you're right. Doctors speak their own language. It's like Vulcan but more icy. ;) The Haynes Manual of the human body, lol.

I'll be okay. Honestly. The outpouring of support here is something else. I don't deserve you folks. I am usually the one offering it, but... to see it from the other side... you are all very special. Thank you.

Yeah so is mine, Lori, lol. They have no idea of fashion, hahaha.

I get the whole resistance thing. Hospitals in the UK are like... you take your life in your hands these days. You can come out sicker than when you went in. But that's a symptom of how under pressure it all is. For every downside you have in the US... private healthcare isn't trying to deal with the weight of the world. You kind of have problems with every solution.

Back when I was a kid, though... the doctor used to just be like "Yeah here's some antibiotics. Come back in two weeks if it doesn't clear up." My brothers both had them. Now, you have to have green stuff probably pouring out of every orifice, I dunno. That's probably a help and a hinderance.

At least I know I'm not going crazy and I'm not just allergic to the internet, lol. :)

Will let you know more when I know more.

Dunno what I'd do without this place and you fine folks. As much as I take breaks, Susan's is my home. The best people seem to find their way here. :P

Antibiotic resistance is worldwide - that's the problem. But saving them for when it really matters has saved at least one friend of ours, so there are benefits. Whatever they say about the NHS, when you have something that really matters, it really delivers. So lets face this with hope.
