I like the way skinny jeans fit, but they don't always look as good as I would like. They tend to show off my bow legs and knobby knees. My favorite jeans are Jack David boot cut jeans. They have just enough flare at the bottom to make my knees less obvious. I have a couple of pairs of skin-tight jeans that are SO comfortable and look really good with knee-high boots (for the same reason). I'm not a fan of all the bling on the back pockets simply because I kept finding rhinestones in my wash machine where they got rubbed off.
Then I saw an article where the CEO of Levi's said to stop washing your jeans. He said that we can prolong their life by not washing them as often as most people do. He clarified his statement later, saying that he did not mean do not wash them. He spot-cleans them if they are stained or really dirty but usually just washes them in the shower.
I can see how that would help preserve any decorative elements, as well as protect the stretchy elastic from heat damage. My mother had told me once to never put bras in the dryer for the same reason. Hand-wash and air dry can keep many of our clothing items looking good for years.
