Do you like curls or do you like straight hair better?

Hi everyone. I always liked the look of long, flowing, straight hair. Curls are nice too but I don't like how they usually make my hair look shorter.
Do you have a certain preference?

I like them both.  Hair can look so nice, straight, wavy, flowing, curly, short, medium, long, and then the colors!

I like fairly straight hair with big curls below neck level.

Thick hair, thin hair, bangs, no bangs.  So much to choose from!

No chest hair though, Nuh uh.

My hair is naturally curly. I've spent a fortune on burning my head with hair irons trying to get it straight. It works for like half a day, but it's not fun. :P I much prefer straight hair. I don't understand why it has to be curly. Feels like a deformity to me. No other hair on the human body is weirdly curly. :P

I used to straighten my hair so it would look longer. Now it has finally reached a length I'm happy with, so I just leave the natural curls alone. My curls are more like gentle waves, so straightening probably only adds an inch or so.

To be fair, Jess, you are gorgeous. Don't tamper with perfection. :)

You really enjoy making people cry, don't you?  ;D

It took a lot of tampering by my favorite surgeon (Dr. Ley) to reach this point in my life. It was quite painful at times, physically, mentally, and financially. I still see flaws, but I'm finally happy with the person I see in the mirror. Photos are surreal. When I see a photo of myself, my first thought is 'wow, she's beautiful'. After a few seconds, my brain kicks in and says 'no, it's just you'. When I began this journey, I told myself that I would 'make one ugly woman'. I'm still surprised at how wrong I was.

Thanks for starting my day with a smile, @Sephirah .

I mean... if it's in a good way, lol. ;D Then I'm totally fine with it. <3 And think that more people deserve to know just how beautiful they are because most of us go through life trying to tell ourselves we aren't. It's the curse of the human condition. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The only reflection you can really trust is that which comes from the mirror of someone else's eyes. Someone who sees you outside yourself.

So yes, you're GorJess. ;)

Sometimes I will wear a straight long hair wig.  I sometimes also gather that hair into two big long pigtails with small hair ties but I add ribbons. I have not gone to the office that way but it is just a fun thing to wear it like that occasionally, usually at home or on a walk.

At other times I will just gather the hair in the back with a single big ribbon.  It is a nice look.

Mostly though I just like my own hair.

Chrissy, I need to see you with anime pigtails. My life will be complete. Not even kidding. A lot of the time that's kind of how I picture you in my head.

They end up not looking cartoonish but probably a bit too cute.  But as they are fun at times for me, why not I ask myself.  So I just do it.  Same thing for wearing a ponytail and a baseball cap.

As I age, I see my hair thinner and curvier, especially in the 'M' area. I prefer straight hair. I used to visit the hair salon once every year, but I will go there every 6 months to straighten my curly hair. It is time to go to the hair salon before I visit Hawaii late this month.

Cheers,

OMG! I'm not visiting Hawaii later this month but next year with my parents. I have never been there before but my mother has.
I'm just dreading the long flight. We are from Pennsylvania.

I'm finding that my hair looks better with curls.  Even after my balayage and putting waves into my hair, my hairstylist even agrees that my fine hair benefits from curls, since curls give me that volume that straight doesn't.  And lately I've been doing some 80's-inspired styles and people find that I can pull them off and they make me look younger!  Today I have a pink fleece scrunchie and even after brushing, my hair still had curls in it from shampooing last night and sleeping in a sleep cap that I couldn't comb out this morning and it's got that 80's look.

my hair is naturally curly, but they get very easily frizzy and dull...  I've been straightening them with iron with not much success to fight the fizzy effect (straightening lasted just a few hours).
So i changed strategy and with support of my hairdresser I found good products to enhance the natural curls and make my hair look healthy.
So now...  definitely curly (see my new avatar) !!

My hair is thinnig a bit as I get older so it is nice having it be a little curly for more volume.
It is now long enough to reach the middle of my back.  Fortunately I don't have male pattern baldness.

If I was wearing long hair I would like it to have big waves that fall down the sides of my face and over the front of my top.

My shorter hair is straight, and uniform length.  Have to go to a salon about every five weeks to keep it just right.

My hair is naturally curly, but when it gets longer, the weight of the hair pulls it straight so I am left with wavy hair. After washing and drying, it is usually only curly near the ends.

My stylist says that women with straight hair often would like to have wavy or curly hair,

and vice versa!
