Hello everyone!

My name is Irina and I'm from Brazil.

I'm just now, at age 44, beginning my transition journey after nearly 7 years struggling with dysphoria. Struggling with trying to understand what is happening to me.

I have to say, this is all so scary! I have the constant questioning if I'm doing the right thing, if I'm just faking all the feelings. If this is real or not. If I'll be able to be, or feel, what I dream. It's maddening! But I guess many of you might have felt the same.

Well, I'm trying to move forward anyway. Next Thursday I'll have my first doctor appointment and maybe start the HRT plans.

I wish we all continue to have the strength to keep going and feel at ease with ourselves.

:)

Hello Irina,

I'm Lori Dee. Welcome to Susan's Place!

Thank you for that wonderful introduction. The journey is scary at first, but definitely worthwhile!

Hopefully, you have a therapist with experience in gender identities. If not, I would suggest that you seek one out. They can be very helpful. Not only can they provide the necessary diagnosis of gender dysphoria (which the medical doctors need to write prescriptions), but they can help you by answering questions about what you are going through. Of course, we will be here to offer support, but having a therapist who knows you is much better than anonymous people on the internet.

We strive to make this a safe place to find information and share your thoughts and comments. Our members come from all over the world and have a wide range of experiences. No matter who you are, you are always welcome at Susan's Place. Perhaps some of the stories of their experiences can help you too.

Clicking the HOME button will take you to a page where you can see the various sub-forums. Feel free to comment and share your experiences too.

Please keep in mind when posting that this is an ALL-AGES PUBLIC Forum and the internet never forgets. Do not post anything that you do not want to be made public.

I will add some links here that are important for new members. Pay special attention to the links in RED. When you reach 15 posts, you will be able to send and reply to private messages and add an avatar to your profile.

Until then if you have any questions about the Susan's Place site and the Forums, please feel free to contact me at  LoriDee605@outlook.com

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Hi.

Welcome Irina!

Chrissy
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.
