THAMES Valley Police has been named as one of the top 100 employers of gay people in the UK.

Charity Stonewall ranked the force 59th in employers' commitment to equality for gay men, lesbians and bisexual people.

Supt Robin Rickard, Thames Valley Police head of diversity, said: "This ranking is a real achievement for the force and sends out exactly the right message both to current and potential employees who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and to the communities we serve.
