How is your female voice coming along?

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Here is my sample. I had a few years of voice training from the voice clinic at GWU. I repeated the first few sentences.

I went in and added the typical low and high for female range and added them in for visibility.IMG_3539.png

Natalie,

Your voice is so very nice female in quality and nuance.  A pleasing voice for a woman.

Good for you!

I know my voice is passable. I'm super happy to have a passable voice but I'm sure with enough practice and meditation others can manage it too.

I had to go through speech therapy in elementary school before of the ear infections I had. I guess I got used to having to focus on adjusting speech patterns. But it's just repetitive training. Reading the same thing over and over and over again.

When I was training first they had me practice moving my voice up from my chest to my mouth. Then they worked on inflection. Then resonance. Then putting it all together. Practicing changing emphasis with tone and not volume level. Practice on moving emphasis around in the sentence to change the meaning.

Sometimes it was even just going through a list of words and saying them ten times to get used to saying the word. That part really reminding me of speech therapy when I was a kid.

What you said is inspiring, it gives me hope that I can achieve it too. Your words are so uplifting and full of encouragement for others.

Ouch, it sounds like there was a silver lining at the start of the experience, evolving into a lovely female voice as demonstrated in your video. Perhaps it's true that some things happen for a reason. Nonetheless, I just want to say I'm sorry you had to go through an ear infection in elementary school.

This is cool. I can start here, break the problem into smaller parts, and focus on improving one step at a time. Once I've made progress with each part, I can work on practicing everything as a whole.Thank you so much for this, Natalie.

Aha, working on this list later this evening when I get home.

The nice female voice is very important to have.

No doubt about that.

Impressive!

Right now, I'm working on shifting my vocal resonance moving from my chest resonance (deep & masculine) to my throat resonance (neutral/mixed), and finally into my forward/mask resonance (feminine & bright) in the nasal and facial mask.

Did you undergo surgery to achieve this?

No, I wouldnt risk surgery even if i needed it, and yes moving your voice from your chest to your head which can be practiced firstly by blowing through a straw into a large cup of water whilst gliding the voice up, usually by humming, the other part to be honest is hormones breaking down stress and relaxing

Faith

depends on the day, the hour, and who is listening.

On a phone? It's all "sir" even when they know my name. A guy called Faith? Seriously? sheesh
Talking: in person it's hit-n-miss. Most tell me it's a deeper woman's voice. Visual feedback helps .. yay for the physical mostly passing aspect.
Singing: well, that floats around. I have a wide vocal range so I can do low and high parts equally bad (hee)

I can shift my register easy enough, generally I'm too lazy. However, I have been told that when I shift to upper register people hear me much better. I guess my 'guy voice' is still a bit shy.
I left the door open, only a few came through. such is my life.
