Hidden Figures and The Six Triple Eight movies.

These two movies focus on the contribution of black women.  Unfortunately there was a tremendous amount of racial bigotry against African Americans during the times depicted by these two movies.

Hidden Figures is a true story about three women at NASA who were instrumental in one of history's greatest operations – the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit.  A number of black women were great mathematicians and engineers that worked at NASA prior to the modern computer age.

The Six Triple Eight Movie focuses on the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion in WW II.  This was part of the only Army corps that allowed black woman soldiers to serve in Europe.  They organized 17,000,000 pieces of backlogged mail to and from US soldiers.  It was vital for morale that mail got received by the soldiers and that mail made its way back home.  They had an awesome task.

Its leader, LTC Charity Adams, was honored by being part of the current name for the old Fort Lee in Virginia.  Lt. Gen. Arthur Gregg was also honored in this renaming to Fort Gregg-Adams.

Consider watching these movies when you can if you have not.
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.
