Hi all! I had a very pleasant surprise a couple of weeks ago! I have been wearing the same hairstyle for years. Sometimes a shorter version, sometimes longer. I was getting sick of it.
A cough of weeks ago, I sat down in my barber's chair and said " I want something different!" Out of the blue he asked " how about a buzz cut?" It's funny because I was thinking about that! I went with it.
Now, I have always thought of the buzz cut as a really masculine look. But when I got home  and looked at myself in the mirror, I realized that I had stumbled upon a very androgynous look! I went online to explore female buzz cut styles. I found a lot of lovely women wearing almost the same hairstyle as me! I felt liberated! I shaved off my beard and love all the beautiful outfits that really work with my new hairstyle. I really feel like I have room to explore more of me with this new look!
I know that it might seem like a shallow thing, but outward expression is an important part of my journey. Any thoughts?

Hi Camille!

That is exciting news. Outward expression is important to us because it makes us feel like our authentic selves. Sometimes it takes some experimenting with hair, makeup, clothing, or jewelry. But when we find what works, it feels wonderful.

I am truly happy that you are finding things that make you feel like YOU.

Thank you for sharing!
